I used to work in an HR department... just to let you know, all employments are at will, meaning they can fired you with no reason, or you can quit with no reason.
It is very polite to give at least two weeks notice, but is not a requirement or a must.
Of course, go pick up your check, if you have plenty confident with your ex-boss, just be honest. If not, you have your right to excuse yourself or not.

Man up and go get your check, maybe by being honest about why you quit will build a backbone for the future. Maybe next time somebody takes the time to hire you, you will have enough maturity to actually stick to the work or at least give 2 weeks notice.

Although my work ethics are different than yours, you still earned that $$.If you can't face them call and have them mail it to you. They probably won't ask since you were thoughtless enough to leave them in a bind.Think of the person that had to pull a double or the boss that missed his kids birthday party because they had no one else to fill in for you.Or ,if they act mean to you just say alright I'll NEVER apply here again.Like you would anyway,RIGHT?

Yes, you should, but if you don't they will usually mail it to you or submit it to the state as a lost item. If it's submitted to the state, your local paper will usually publish a list of names, and include a form printed on the page. If you see yor name printed, you can send Uncle Sam the form in the mail and get your check a few weeks later.

Yes, it is money that you earned...go get it. Legally, an employer is obligated to pay you within 48 hours of your termination, no matter who ended it. There is no reason not to go get your final paycheck......and you really don't have to give any reasons as to why you quit. Facing someone you left hanging is difficult sometimes....but the pay is good ;)

If you feel you earned it.... you should go get it. You could tell the truth of why you ditched them and they could learn from it and it may help other employess.

It's your money - you worked for it. If they ask, I agree with a family emergency. If they give you attitude, just break down and cry, LOL! It'll get em off your case.

Only if you want it. You do not have to tell them anything. But if you must just tell them why. That way if it is something they are doing, they may want to correct it.
