I've been volunteering as an EMT-B for 15 years in Search and Rescue and Ski Patrol. I work as a Project Manager in my 9-5 job. I'm getting bored of that and would like to switch to being an EMT-P. I'm used to earning $80K to $90K/year as a PM, so it might be too tough financially depending on the hit. (I live in So Cal where my mortgage is outrageous [$3K a month] for a tiny house in a bad neighborhood).

I’m afraid my only option is the Fire Department since I think they have a monopoly on the Paramedic work.

What do you think? What do the Paramedics out there think?

Thanks,

My tenant (who was also my friend) paid his rent of $1200 by a personal cheque. For some reason, I didnt cash it for 40 days, now when I deposited the cheque it bounced back saying that the cheque is cancelled.
At the same time, my friend has also vacated my apartment 10 days back and left to out-of state and has so far not informed me of his new residence. He is not answering my calls either.
I want to go to the small claims court for the cheque fraud but I dont know his latest address to summon him to the court. I didnt have any formal lease aggrement with him, so I dont know his ssn either. Can I ask his Bank to give me his latest address or ssn? please advice how to proceed further.

Do you think the fresh graduate shoud mention he has worked for McDonalds after they graduate on the work history in the resume? Will the employer think that the graduate is weak? If the graduate is able and strong, the graduate does not have to work for McDonald's after he graduated.

The person in question is self-employed (business owner), has enough money to pay 6 months rent up front, but he has really bad credit. It seems like in this area noone cares how much money he has in the bank, but they all run credit checks (Nothern CA). It takes a long time to re-establish good credit, but he needs a place to live now, not 6 months from now. What can he do?

Hi! Can you tell me if this order of power is correct for corporations: board director, board members, ceo, (coo?), president, vice president. Can the CEO override every decision made by everybody else (except the board director and board). Is there a way to make it impossible for the board director to be kicked off the board? Can the board director overrule everything?

Hope it's not too much for you!!

I am thinking about letting my 2004 trail blazer be repossesed my husband and i are separating and neither of us can afford it alone. I don't want to kill either of our credits but was curious how bad that would be on our credit, we have scores nearly 800 right now.

-k- loves, I'm sprucing up my resumé (getting ready to hand it into a potential employer) and I'm wondering if it's necessary to list every job I've ever worked in? I've had a few jobs that I hated and walked out on after a few weeks.

Do hirers usually go into your background and try to uncover stuff like that or am I just being paranoid? I think it looks bad if I put one or two jobs on my resumé where I only had them for a week or two?

Any thoughts?

The friendly lawyers in a classaction lawsuit tell me I'm entitled to some cashola (over $1k) because an Internet dot-bomb company settled the class action. Woohoo! But the rub is...I purchased and sold the shares in my contributory IRA. So when I get my check from those greedy theivin' dot-commers - am I free to take spend it as I see fit? Or do I have to put it in my IRA and lock it away until old and grey?

Any tax attornies out there? I haven't filed taxes in five years. I think I owe about $25,000. Whats the best course of action? Can I negotiate it down? I had a nervous breakdown about 2 years ago and gave about $30,000 away to the homeless (the actual homeless, not documented homeless charities). Unfortunately that was the money I had planned to pay the IRS with. I'm trying to rebuild my life and I'm afraid to go to the IRS on my own. Any suggestions?

OK I just moved to the U.S. to be with my wife & daughter and I have NO idea what so ever about taxes etc..

I recently started a new job (my first in the U.S.) and my co-workers recommended I have3 Exemptions/Allowances.
I got my first paycheck today and the amount the taxed me doesn't look right....from $514.50, they only took out $17.03.

I'm married with 1 child, my wife does not work right now....how many exemptions/allowances should I have as I do not want to owe the govt. money at the end of the tax year??!!??

Thanks.

If so, has one ever gotten lost in the mail on the way to you? If so, how did you handle it? I am asking because I never got mine for this week; it was mailed out to me on Monday from a town about thirty miles away and it never got here. I went by the office and they said it was mailed out Monday and I should have gotten it. My neighbor got her's on the regular day but mine still hasn't come. What is the procedure when this happens? Thank you so much!
