In 1 week I am turning 16 and need a job to buy clothes, a car, gas for my car, pay some money for college, buy gifts for family and friends, and other things. Since I'm turning 16, I really need a job to pay for these things, but I don't want it to interfere with my school work. What are good ideas for a job that I can work, that will only be a couple hours after school and 1 day on the weekend? I know I can't be picky with my hours, but I also need to keep up my straight A's and I need to have time for all of my clubs in school. Also, fast food is definitley out of the question because I will absolutely not work there. I put an ad in the paper last week for babysitting and tutoring, but no one has called me. I can't continue to put ads in because they cost too much money which I do not have. Does anyone have any ideas for a job that will still leave me plenty of time to do my homework and other schoolwork, and still give me time to relax with my family and friends?

Besides the obvious, short term costs savings what is the big picture impact to the economy when labor costs drop due to outsourcing domestic jobs? Do the ends justify the means? Any studies done to support the move to Outsourcing?

I am ripping off my question and details, vague and poorly remembered, from PBS's Frontline series. They aired a program on retirement some time ago. (Hope I haven't turned anybody away by mentioning Frontline. Opinions on the show are polarized. I'd like to hear from both sides on this.)
I wish I could give you all the details I found startling the night I watched the program. It's been a while; if you want more, you might want to visit:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/retirement/
You can view the program in it's entirety.
Here's the deal:
Corporations are ridding themselves of costly pensions at the expense of the workers who must "manage" their 401ks. This can be disadvantageous; we formerly had the clout of large pools of money when employers furnished funds to investors to sustain pensions-no more, you've only the few thousand dollars you've saved. Further, we lost experienced finance mangers that were investing our money. I'm not a planner=my money makes less.

If so, what interest should I expect?
and would my new on time payments increase my score?

I need to increase my score to get a nice apartment. I never had a bankruptcy, or foreclosure. I missed several credit card payments(I was in college) 6 years ago.

My family owns tons of real estate in certain part of town. I'd like to buy this one house near the others but others have said I'm too young. I'm 21 and could have the house paid off within a year. I have 2 more years of college here and then possibly grad school @ the same school. I hate having to pay rent every month when it could be going towards a house payment. What do you think?

*The house is immaculate. My dad remodeled the entire house (ie new: fixtures, roof, bathroom, carpet, central heating and air and appliances).
