I came across the startling figure of 24% of adults in my home county describe themselves as 'disabled'. That is they are unable to work and draw a gov't subsistance check. The population here is almost 100% native. That is no recent immigrants. I always remember this stat when I hear these same people complain about the immigrant Mexicans, other Latinos, Asians, I see scraping out a living doing real work.

On the new job, no one talk to you and you do not know anyone, even i hate my old job (I do not hate my job, i am more hate my boss), but at least i am comfortable. I know everyone. Wow I am seriously upset.. Went through 4 interviews with this company for an IT Support position. Took a total of 3 weeks. Filled out all this paperwork talked about benefits. Today I call and am told they sent me a letter and they found someone who was a better fit..

I mean what the heck? I have 10+ years experience know all the systems have experience in what they were looking for.. In fact last week got another email saying they wanted to finish up and have me do some final paperwork.. All that for nothing.

Real scumbags some of these employers are. Do they realize that they are wasting peoples time with this nonsense? 4 interviews all this and no offer. Was even toldby an associate there that they had not had anyone else in for a 3rd or 4th interview, I was the only one.

I hope they can sleep well at night, which I am sure they do.. Probably better off anyway, I would not want to work for a company that is so inept.

I am so frustrated.

When I search for jobs, I apply to jobs that I really want, as well as to jobs that I think are safe options. What do you say when you are contacted from the jobs you applied to be safe?

Do you wait to see if the people from the jobs you really want call, or do you accept the job? If you want to wait, what do you tell them?
