That's bull that you need a job. You THINK you need a job. You are 13, relax, don't work until you absolutely need to, which is usually at least 16 if not 18 or even older.

I got my first job at thirteen. I delivered papers. That's pretty dangerous these days because you'll be out at 4 and 5 in the am. Then I became a "volunteer" at a local day care. i got paid biweekly like every else, but my pay was "under the table". that meant that they didn't pay taxes on me, so the gov didn't know i was working. I got my mother to lie once (when i quit the paper thing, i went to a grocery store).
i think your best bet is doing it on your own. gone are the days of lemonade stands, you've got the internet, girl! if you are "crafty" make accessories, purses and things like that. with $5 worth of materials, you can make at least three small purses, $10 each....do the math!
candy stores are straight money in the bank. EVERYONE knows the "candy lady". you can invest as little as $25 in five cent bubble gums and chips and candy bars and get back anywhere from $40-$80 within a week. the trick is to make sure your prices are slightly better than the nearsest store and you must ALWAYS keep candy handy. as long as you have candy, you'll never go broke.
some more young ventures are: bike detailing (washing and waxing and even painting and decaling bicycles), doing hair, vaccuming for the elderly and sick, pet walking/sitting/washing, children's birthday party planner (i made $50 in one afternoon once just for handling the games and favors and helping with cake and ice cream so the parents could chill), swim lessons, walking/workout partner, the list goes on.

Word of advice, don't work until you have to. Enjoy your summer, enjoy life while you still can cause once you get a job you'll feel like you'll always be needing one. Once you're officially done with school then start searching, or maybe your last year of high school start searching in case you want to pay for your prom yourself. If you really want money, do some chores around the house, babysit. If it's not for the money then volunteer your time to help your community.

I don't see anything wrong with you wanting to get a job. No one but you knows your situation. Maybe you want to save up for something that your mom and dad told you YOU had to save the money for, maybe your family don't have very much money so you need to get a job to help or to get your own things. I think it is responsible to want to get a job, just don't let it come before your school work, right now school is number one for you. I think you could babysit, walk dogs, wash cars, deliver the newspaper, mow yards. That's about all I can think of. Good Luck!

You cant legally have a job at thirteen...unless you try babysitting, pet sitting, yard work or wash cars...but i think if you try to babysit or pet sit you should have lots of experience and be certified in cpr and first aid, because when you watch children, trust me theyll get hurt...theyre humans, and youre responsible for thier life the whole time. And pet sitting you should have exp too because if people love their pet enough to find a sitter, then that pet must mean the world to them so youd have to be carefull with that too..Also youre 13, you have to be careful there are sick people out there...you should talk it over with your parents. I dont know if it would be legal to like, be an assistant to elderly..you might have to be a nurse so...i dunno

You are to young to work, the only thing I could think of is babysitting, most jobs in America, you have to be 15 or 16 and have working papers from school, so, besides babysitting you have no other options. Good luck!!

Well, I really wouldn't be worrying about getting a job at your age. You have PLENTY of time to work. But if your that enthusided about it, they try baby sitting. Just make sure your ready though, taking care of kids is a BIG responsibility.

Babysit, Wash cars, clean gutters, go shopping for people who can't get to the store, newspaper delivery, there's lots of things like that you can do for people in your neighborhood. Always make sure your parents know who your working for and where you'll be.
