Wow I am seriously upset.. Went through 4 interviews with this company for an IT Support position. Took a total of 3 weeks. Filled out all this paperwork talked about benefits. Today I call and am told they sent me a letter and they found someone who was a better fit..

I mean what the heck? I have 10+ years experience know all the systems have experience in what they were looking for.. In fact last week got another email saying they wanted to finish up and have me do some final paperwork.. All that for nothing.

Real scumbags some of these employers are. Do they realize that they are wasting peoples time with this nonsense? 4 interviews all this and no offer. Was even toldby an associate there that they had not had anyone else in for a 3rd or 4th interview, I was the only one.

I hope they can sleep well at night, which I am sure they do.. Probably better off anyway, I would not want to work for a company that is so inept.

I am so frustrated.

I HATE when that happens! I had an ALL DAY panel interview (meaning I interviewed with 9 or 10 people, most of whom had no clue about my profession). They even went so far as to check my references (my references are my friends, so they tell me when they get called). This company didn't even have the courtesy to tell me they hired someone who was not me.

The last company I was with, it took 4 interviews. I made them do 2 of them after work. This was over the course of 6 weeks. In all that time, I never got a plant tour. I got hired, but they sucked and I left less than a year later.

When I interviewed at USC, another silly panel interview, chippie told me I would hear back on if I got the job on thus and such date. I said "If i don't hear back-" She exploded "You WILL hear back from us by then!" Well, 1 week after that date, when I hadn't heard back from them, I called her to follow up and she was on vacation. I got my rejection letter 4 MONTHS later.

Sigh....

I know you're frustrated. Save the rejection letters. You can use them as job leads in the future.

They would not have invested all that time either if they were not interested. Instead of what's wrong with them, you might think about the possibility that they didn't want to hire you for some reason. Rather than dismissing them as jerk-offs. You might not be able to find out what it is, but you willingly went through all that knowing there was no committment from them. Or perhaps the CEO's daughter walked in and wanted a job at the last minute. Hard to tell.

I am looking for work as well, walked out of the office about 6 wks ago because I wouldn't laugh at dirty jokes, criticized for purchasing meals at Mc Donald's because they are anti-NRA per my supervisor, and don't believe that everyone including women and children should be eradicated from the face of the earth. Keep you head up even though a "good right cross " to the chin would make some of the aggravation a little easier to take. Trust in God first, second, and third and last.

Take care now! and I mean that.

Hey.. life sucks.. get over it and move on. This will happen again and again and again. I've run into the same thing... it got to the point where I gave up looking for work. I'm partly disabled... and I'm a big man.... I don't fit the 'corporate image' for companies .... and it doesn't matter about experience... it doesn't matter about dedication.. it doesn't matter if you're willing to bend over and take it up the wazoo for most companies.. if you don't fit into their 'corporate image' of what an employee should look like.. then you don't fit into them period.
Probably in your case.. VP of some division or other had some girlfriend who's brother needed a job and you got passed over for him... it blows... but that's life... as I say. it's full of disappointments.
