isn't the interest rate rise supposed to lead to an appreciation in USD? also, why did the equity market surge?

when i paid some of my collections the agencies would lower about 30% but then i requested this to be done at another collection agency and they said it was illegal!

I have already contributed $4,000 to my Roth IRA at Vanguard for 2006. I was on the site to make a $1,000 contribution to my Traditional IRA, and the site said I've already made my maximum allowed contributions. I haven't contributed anything to my Traditional Roth this year.

I was under the impression I could contribute $4k each to a Roth and a Traditional IRA each year. Am I wrong?

A second question. I still have a 401K with a former employer. Can I contribute money into that still?

My husband was sent to collections by a dentist's office (in early April) for a bill he does not owe. We wrote a dispute letter and sent it to the collection agency. We didn't hear anything for 5 weeks so my husband called them and the collection agency said that they faxed a copy of our dispute letter to the dentist's office the day they received it, but had not heard anything back from him. So we waited. Now almost 2 months later, the collection agency has still not heard from the doctor. How long does the dentist have to respond to our dispute, this has been put on my husband's credit report and they refuse to take it off....Is there somekind of time frame that the dentist has to dispute our dispute?????

the program is a youth program and myself and 2 other couples would like to acquire the program and re write the by laws so we can make this program succeed. I just moved to Cincinnati, OH for a job that was offered to me, I get all moved here and now I work random for the company instead of doing the job I was actually hired to do, and on top of everything I am so worried that I won't have a job at the end of summer. I am going to school for Education, however school is not going to pay my bills. I have applied to several different companies starting 2 weeks after I moved here and I haven't gotten any responses. Anyone have any ideas for me? I am 23, female, customer service background, Walt Disney World Management Internship, Invoicing Experiece, and Coordinator Experiece. I am a very people person, good on a one-to-one basis, friendly, hardworking, and I have a great work ethic (work for a grocer for 5 years). Any ideas for a full-time job with benefits? I am willing to provide a resume if needed. I also have references available.

I inheirtied a house with an adjustable rate mortgage. The loan when I took it over was $80,000 when I took it over 3 years ago. The rate right now is somewhere near 6%, I want to pay it off asap so the rate doesn't go up and so I can use the extra money that would have been a loan payment for a baby instead.

I have been paying an extra $1000 a month on top of the loan amount due.

I recently sent $14,000 (from my savings) towards my balance and now the mortgage is at $33,000 and I am going to be sending payments of about $2700 a month to pay it off in a year.

A friend of mine is telling me not to pay it off and just keep making payments since its the best solution.

I am paying like $150 in interest every month that will be staying in my pocket once its paid off, I don't get what my solution isn't the best.

The tax write off isn't really worth it, is it?

if you met someone and you truly got along with this person and yo could laugh and be yourself, and then you found out how much they made each year, and it was not a lot AT ALL....would this change your opinion on the person?would you think different of them?

I recently relocated to the area and can't find a job. I've been to personnel agencies, the classified ads, submitted job applications, etc. I've had a few interviews but nothing has panned out.
