They do affect your credit FICO Scores but lenders generally ignore medical collections...

Most definately. My husband and I had to file bancrupcy and our medical bills were a big part of that. As soon as you fail to make your payments they will send you to collections and it is all down hill from there. Even if you can only send five dollars a month, you should set something up so that you can prove that you are always paying and always being honest.

They can though my girlfriend was still able to buy a house with her medical debt so it probably depends on the amount of the debt, plus she had shown something to the mortgage company that she made a deal to make payments to them but once she got the house she scrapped that deal.

Yes if the physician office chooses to send your account to collections for non payment or late, that reflects on your credit score.

YES! they can take it out of your wages even throw you in jail..And it will mess up CREDIT BAD!!!!!
