I don't understand why everbody wants to be dark? Why go tanning? All my girlfriends are always like "I'm so white!". Who gives? I just don't understand? Is there any particualar reason?

Without going into detail as to why I want/need to tan (for those that would recommend Mystic Tan), I have questions concerning the process of tanning in a booth.

First of all, I am a thick girl. So bear this in mind. I am also not light skin but I do burn somewhat easily on my back, chest, between my breasts and neck.

The last few times I have tanned in a booth I have come out with mild burns (as you are supposed to do at first) but there have been strips on my back and thighs.. like the space between the bulbs didnt touch.

Are there tricks to a successful overall tan in laying down in a bed? Is a standup bed better for heavier people? Do you get the same kind of coverage with a standup bed? Or does that require strange and unusual Kama Sutra positions?

And any opinions on lotions? Best kind? Tinglers, Bronzers, Neither? Spray or lotion?

Any actual help and opinions are welcome.

I want to get my ears pierced for the first time, but my mom has not let me. She is always worried about me getting an infection, and she is worried about me being allergic to the metals, and she doesnt want me to get them ripped out. I wanted to get it done before school starts next year (sept), but i need some good ideas to help me convince her. I typed a letter on my computer telling her the facts and my reasons very nicely sorted out instead of begging, and i plan to give it to her in a few weeks. Is there any other ways to convince her? I recently got overexposure to the sun, which is causing me to itch, really bad like little bugs are biting me all over!
I have tried everything I can think og including, benadryl, itch gels (helps for 5 min), creams, solarcaine, lanacaine, Aveeno oatmeal bath, hot baths, cold baths!
Anyone know anything? I don't want to go to the ER or anyhting drastic, it's just really miserable!

My Face is getting rough after using a razor for shaving. To keep my face smooth and shiny, is it okay to use hair remover cream ( the one which the ladies use to remove hair from hands, legs,) as a substitute for a razor. Any side effects.
