Good - beauty! There is nothing which will finish a good outfit like a well matched pair of earrings!
Bad - momentary pain and the need to keep the holes clean for the first few weeks. Chances of infections every so often, but less so if you take good care of your ears and wear real gold or silver.

Make sure that you use a licensed piercer and that all his /her equipment is sterile. get all the care instruction from the piercer and keep to them. enjoy!

It's painful for a second. They use this tool that makes the hole in your ear (and puts the earring in) that is somewhat painful. The second ear isn't as bad though. You can't take your earrings out for a few weeks (it's so the holes can't close up and so your ears get used to earrings) and then after then.

Just as a tip, get gold the first time. After that get gold or sterling silver (that works with most people's ears). If you are in a store and the card the earrings are on don't say what kind they are (it'd be at the bottom), don't buy them, because you most likely will be allergic to them (some metal it's made out of that the store doesn't want you to know about). You don't want allergic reaction from earrings. It's not fun!

I use to pierce ears at Claires. The good parts about earings are that they make a girl feel more femanine. They can be changed to match and they are easily removable. It gives someone one more piece of self expression when they have earings.
The bad parts are the small chance of an infection. However, if an ear becomes infected 9 times out of 10 the ear can be cleaned and back to normal without ever having to remove the earing.
I hope that your mother lets you get them pierced and if she does make sure that you take care of your ears.

Well, there are good points and bad points to the piercing debate. If you don't treat it correctly after you get it done, it can get infected and you will have to let it close up. But on the upside, you do get to wear nice jewelry LOL....Really, just be careful and take care of your ears if you do get them pierced - it can cause major problems later if you don't.

Im a mom and I let my daughter gauge her ears. She is very responsible and for her 15 bday, she got an eyebrow ring. I dont allow anything distasteful, but this is a way for her to express herself and be her own person.

Normal piercing is easy to take care of, 1st 8 weeks are the pain, u must make sure you keep them clean, after that, its a breeze.

One hole is okay...I have two in each ear and thats all im planning on getting, more than that doesnt look good for jobs and what not. There really is nothing bad about getting your ears pierced. It shows maturity I guess.

I didnt get my eats pierced until I was 12.

Ususally the best place is the ear lobe; but make sure it's a good place you're going to, I would reccommend going to a tatoo and piercing parlor, only because they use very sterile techiniques as a ear piercing gun is not sterile at all

Good: Having one's ears pierced does take care and consideration. By maintaining your newly pierced ears, you're showing her that you can handle responsibility.

Bad: If you don't take care of your ears, it could cause infection. They tend to get caught on things (especially when they're new).
Earrings can be expensive.

i think its no big deal, i have my ears pierced six times and i also have my nose. i think u should get some clip on earings and pretend that u got them pierced behind her back and see what her reaction is, and if ends up being no big deal then go and have the pierced for real

Good part is earrings are very pretty, most women have their ears peirced atleast one. I pierced my daughter's when she was 6 weeks old......The bad part is, if you do not care for them properly they will get infected and it hurts.
