Ok i have side swept bangs, and i want to lighten part of it..like a strip.
dont say its gonna be ugly because i saw someone else with it and it looked REALLY pretty.
So how do i create the strip of lighter hair?
i dont have- sun.
i have- lemon juice, hydrogen peroixde, foil, time, hair, and a blowdryer.

and dont say is gonna ruin my hair. it wont. my hair is exteremly healthy, it doesnt fall out, ive dyed it and bleched it before ands its still shiney, soft, and healthy.
my hair is also a lighter brown

pleaseee help!

Hey there!

I have long, thick, layered hair. I straighten it everyday and use John Frieda's Frizzease serum to make it stay pretty. This is great, but I'm looking for something for my layers.

I think I need a texturizer of some sort (I'm sworn off of Pantene though) and don't want to have to use wax. I'm hoping for thick, chunky-ish layers, but no floofy head!

Is there anything that could be reccomended to me? Maybe a serum of cream?

Right, I got my hair cut and it's pretty short at the moment but I wanted highlights & for it to grow quite a bit..so I was wondering..if I got highlights done NOW would it look stupid after like a few weeks cos it will grow & surely the strands of hair which are highlighted will grow in their original colour on top, so it will be like BLONDEE-BROWNN? Thanks

Okay, so I'm going to donate 8 inches of my hair on Dec. 6th and I have some questions and concerns.
1.I am REALLY nervous. I've pretty much had long hair my whole life and 8 inches is a lot to cut off-any ideas how to shake off this feeling?
2.Any ideas on how to convince others to donate their hair too?
3.Does anybody know a salon where I can go to do this between London ON and Toronto?
4.Any tips?

Thank you guys so much! Keep supporting the fight for cancer!

I'm graying prematurely. I was wondering if one of you might know how to go about picking hair color in a box. I'd like to stay my natural color if possible. I'd really appreciate all your effort. Thanks a million

I have naturally thick dark brown hair (which has been highlighted and dyed many times). Last night I dyed my hair a soft black color from garnier nutrisse called "Sweet Cola." The color turned out darker than I had expected, and I was considering dying it one shade lighter to dark brown this evening. Is this okay to do?

My brother is thinking about getting hair transplants. His concerns are:
1. a good place to go
2. is there a visible scar from the doner area
3.Are there bumps where the new hair is
4.does it look natural
5. is there continuing pain months/years after the procedure
6.how satisfied are you with the coverage

My hair is really fine/thin and mostly straight(well a LITTLE wavy). It's also thinning a little at the top(i'm a guy).

I'm considering getting dreads, would my hair be ok for it or would they come out thin and crappy?

I'm thinking about dying my hair. I have done it before, but only to lighten it a bit. Now I'm thinking of going with this color: it's a reddish brown, and very pretty http://clairol.com/herbalessences/vibrant/step4.jsp
I'm also thinking of adding the Herbal Essences highlights for curly hair, that ate a warm caramelly-brown.
My original hair color is a medium brown. I know this would be a pretty intense change, but I'd like to do it. Would this look good with blue-grey eyes?
If you don't think this is a good color pair for me, why? and what do you think I should do?
Also, should I get the Herbal Essences box kit, or get it done in a salon? Sometimes in a salon is REALLY expensive, but if you go the cheaper way, the quality is less... is that true?

Today I got a perm from a place in a mall. Their sign said 'perms $65 and up.' I asked how much a perm for me would cost, and was told probably $65 as my hair isn't too long, about mid collar length.
The stylist gives me the perm, then asks if I want any cut off. I tell her yes, and tell her how much to take off.
Afterwards I go up to the counter to pay, and am shocked when I'm told the charge is $95!!! I ask why, if the sign says perms are $65, I'm being charged $95, and am told 'the perm was $65, the haircut was $30.

I've gotten perms about twice a year for the past 15 or so years, and every time they cut some off, and never ever have I been charged extra for a hair cut. Have a just been fortunate all these years?

My money's kinda tight right now, and I was happy to give myself a treat via the perm. But I thought I'd only be paying $65 + $15 for tip, but instead I paid the $95 and gave a $10 tip. I was kinda upset when I left.

What's been your experience? Thanks

I used One 'n Only Colourfix to lighten my dyed black hair, which lightened it considerably, though it's a copper red colour. I really want medium ash brown hair, but I have heard that it could turn it green, is this true? How can I dye my hair ash brown and have it not turn green?

Also, I REALLY don't want black hair again, and I'm afraid that trying to put brown dye in might make it too dark, I have heard lots of stories where people put in medium or dark brown hair dyes, and end up with jet black... Any suggestions?

I'm on the dark spectrum of olive skin, and I have dark brown hair which sometimes looks like a dark burgundy... I really want to dye my hair blue black? I think that the contrast with my skin tone and hair will make my eyes pop?

I have very oily hair/scalp. It get's oily/feels really really greasy in a matter of 4 hours. I've tried almost every single shampoo possible: garnier fructis, herbal essences, sunsilk, pantene, suave clarifying shampoo, and l'oreal pro vive. None of them made my hair look less oily. I've tried not washing my hair in a day, and when I did wash it 2 days after my hair looked like it was in worse condition. I've tried putting on witch hazel, and Mouthwash & none of these have worked.

I do lather very well and I massage into the scalp. I leave my shampoo on for 2 minutes and alternate days of conditioning. I airdry 80% wet (because i'm in a hurry), and blowdry until it's 30% wet. I blowdry from scalp to the ends.
