Hair - November 2007

I'm 40, have 3 kids (9, 6, 3) and have noticed over the last 3-5 years my hair falling out and beginning to thin on top. This is extremely distressing to me and I'm worried to death about it. My thyroid is in check and I have no health problems that cause hair loss, so I don't know how to fix this problem. My ob said there's really nothing anyone, male or female, can do about thinning hair. It's just age, hormone, stress related. He said even Rogaine doesn't work or else we wouldn't still see bald men, much less women! Does anyone who has had this problem know any treatments that truly made a difference before I go spending tons of cash on a million products promising thicker hair. Mind you, I'm not bald or balding - I've just noticed a definite thinning on the crown of my head and have to carefully style my hair so that my scalp doesn't show.

i use to use herbal essence mouse for my hiar, and it use to make my curls perfect, but they dont sell that one any more. any good mouse do you recomend curly/wavy hair??

i dyed my hair black
what is the best brand [and/or] their best product for black hair
my hair is also curly
but it does whatever it wants
like yesterday it was straight at the top and curly at the bottom
and the other day it was wavy
but i want my hair to be straight
but i don't like using straighteners because they damage my hair

Okay so i got tired of my long hair cuase its 2 much work and half of the time im always in a hurry. So i plan on getting it cut short like up to my sholder only i don't know what style 2 get it, i kinda want to get like an emo kinda of style with a bunch of layers. But i don't know! I have very course hair and shes never did hair like mine before. I dont want to be rude but i dont want her to do my hair. Im very private with my hair and only trust my hair dresser to do it she been doing it since i was a kid im 30 now. I need my ends cut and i dont mind if she does that but she thinks that she can blow dry my hair and then flat iron it and thats not possible. I have a process that i must go thru to dry my hair. First i sit under the dryer for 45 minutes then maybe i might blow dry it but other than that its not going to preform like she thinks. She doesnt speak english so i cant explain in detail and i dont think my boyfriend is doing a good job. I DONT WANT HER TO DO MY HAIR!!! Will she be upset if i dont let her do it?

im having one of my many bad hair days today. My hair is medium-short (about an inch or two below my shoulders) and it's flat at the end. I just dont think it looks good, it's sort of plain and makes my head look weird and it's a little hard to straighten. How should I cut my hair so there is more of a style in it? I have layers now but they dont seem to do anything except make my hair look shelf-ish.

I love shopping with my friends and whenever we go we look super hot but I always have the same dilemma. How can i do my hair?
