Nothing really can help make it longer than it is I don't think, except extensions. I use John Freida Straighten Up Shampoo & Conditioner also, then while it's still damp put in a product, a straightener product, he has a serum, or some mousse or a palmade then blow dry with a brush, and straighten in sections starting with the underneath until you make your way to the top, having a great straightening iron helps a lot too, like the chi, that'll make it as straight and as long as it can be!

Brush your hair a lot. Cut it regularly; it will keep your hair healthy and will keep split ends under control...having really bad split ends can pretty much "stunt" the growth of your hair. Use your hair conditioner as a conditioning treatment. Take 1/2 cup of your regular conditioner and warm it up in the microwave until it's warm...cover your entire hair with it for about 20 minutes, if you have a hair cap it'll help lock the heat and moisture in. Or I just shampoo my hair as soon as I get into the shower then I put my conditioner on and leave it on while I shave and wash my entire body off (takes like 10 minutes), then wash it out right before I get out of the shower. Also take vitamine E, it'll help your hair grow.
Cutting your hair only makes it shorter, does not affect the growth rate one iota, and cannot determine the length that your hair will grow to. Maximum hair length is determined by the shape and width of the hair shaft, and that is determined genetically and is not alterable with current technology.
Lastly, hair is neither healthy or unhealthy. It is in fact, dead. Else, it would really hurt to cut it. It is the health of the hair follicle below the outer skin that requires nutrients for good health, and deminished adverse hormonal activity.

well my trick, im 35 and my hair looks like im 16, what i do,is only wash it once a week, sounds gross but it grows faster cause of thenatural oils, and it weighs the hair down, i dont give a dam what people tell you it works, i have no receding hair line or evenclose to soon being bald, every morning brush it out, the oils will cling the hair together and help keep it straight, if you feel not so cleanlooking wear a hat or as it gets longer, brush it back into a ponty tail, looks good :) . my hair grows close to 2 inches a month AND! u get no split ends.
good luck
