I've heard that during winter and fall (the colder seasons) your hair slows down growing. Is this true?

If you want to know why I'm asking, it's because I'm trying to grow out my hair, and It doesnt seem to be growing..at all

Hair does actually grow faster in the summer! It grows faster by as much as 1/8" per month depending on the hair type, care, etc. The reason is simply stimulation. The sun stimulates your hair through heat, causing it to grow at a faster rate. There are studies on what makes the sunlight trigger growth, and it is still somewhat unknown. If you want your hair to grow at a faster rate, some have found, and it is not proven, that getting scalp massages on a regular basis, whether to go to a massage therapist/salon or perform one on yourself, that hair may grow at a quicker rate. Just try and keep your hair healthy through conditioning and not using a lot of intense heat, so you won't have to get as many haircuts, and you can have long hair very soon!

yes, the hair growth is alot slower in the fall and winter than the sproing and summer. during the cold season your hair sheds alot more for regrowth which will take until the hotter season for it to grow out. just be patient and it will grow out. good luck.

Yeah I find it grows slower in the winter because its dry out leading to dry hair and split ends. It will really grow in the summer when you get monthly hair trims... depending where you live this can all start in april

I thought I was the only one!! My hair seems to grow so much more during summer and early fall and I asked my aunt about it who's a hair stylist and she says that's common because when the sun is out you get a lot more vitamin D which helps your hair grow.

Provided you have a balanced diet your hair will grow at up to an inch a month. If you want longer hair again you will either have to wait or you could go for extentions.

I believe it slows growth a touch because the warmth keeps blood flowing faster and that is what makes your hair grow faster.
