i have ethnic/mixed hair and i would like it to grow faster and longer. Thanx

Well, you really can't make hair grow faster, but you can make it stronger which in turn makes it healthier and sometimes grow faster.
First off, make sure it's healthy! Try to cut out any heat products such as straightener, blow dryer and/or a curling iron. These things damage your hair ALOT. Also, try to get it trimmed once a month.
USe Garnier Fructice Long & Strong shampoo, conditioner and products. It keeps your hair protected so it won't break as frequently.
And lastly, take your vitamins! Protein is the best thing for your hair (according to my hairdresser). At stores like GNC, they have hair supplements to help your hair grow faster, but don't count on them.
Hair only grows about a half an inch a month. If you want it to go from your shoulders to, I guess, your bra strap? Allow 7 to 8 months. Every 6 inches of hair is about a year old... So, don't expect it to grow at the speed of light! It takes time and care!

Sorry, you 'll have to be satisfied with what nature gave you and that includes how fast your hair grows. Average hair growth is about one half inch a month

I've heard that eating Jello helps it grow. Something about the gelitan. Seems to be working for me.
