Okay, so I'm going to donate 8 inches of my hair on Dec. 6th and I have some questions and concerns.
1.I am REALLY nervous. I've pretty much had long hair my whole life and 8 inches is a lot to cut off-any ideas how to shake off this feeling?
2.Any ideas on how to convince others to donate their hair too?
3.Does anybody know a salon where I can go to do this between London ON and Toronto?
4.Any tips?

Thank you guys so much! Keep supporting the fight for cancer!

I am donating to Pantene's program, not Locks of Love (I live in Canada and would prefer to send it to a Canadian organization) which only requires 8 in.

well i donated my hair a little while ago
i know u feel nervous but there's nothing to worry about this way you get to try more styles, and short hair is easier to take care of. trying to convince others? well you just need to tell them how important it is and how its a way to help people without losing too much. sorry i don't know where you can go but just try to be relaxed. explain to the hairdresser its your first time cutting it so drastically and you're a bit nervous. well good luck

I donated my hair to "Locks of Love" last December. They require a minumum 10" donation. When I decided to donate, I picked out a very short hair style that I wanted to try several months ahead of the donation. The short hair cut worked out well, I got lots of nice comments.

I am in the US. Fantastic Sams supposedly offers a free haircut for donations to "Locks of Love". I went to a private, non-corporate salon and paid for my hair cut. But I took the directions for the donation cut and they were more than happy to braid and cut as requested.

I am growing my hair again for a second donation. I have told more people this time what I am doing and several have said that they would join me.

My advice is to relax. My first experience was great, I am working on my second time.
