Hair - March 2007

I have very course hair, I usually keep my hair in braids and perm it every soo often, It is shoulder length and although the roots are straight the ends are very kinky. (great for afro puffs, but nothing else) I wanted to know if a wet to dry straightener would work on my hair. I am somewhat aware that it tends to dry out hair but I have to grease my hair on a regular basis anyway. I am considering buying an ionized one from walmart. Any personal advice and/ or website would be of help. Thanks

will having it short make it poofy? is short cuter? or is long better?

it's longish now, but i was thinking of cutting it shorter. so it would still be below the shoulders, but only by about 2 inches.

How do you rid your hair of static? I have straight hair that falls well past my shoulders and lately it is always full of static. This feels awful and make my hair fly in all different directions. Any suggestions on how to stop it?

after my baby is born, my hair never went back to normal. i have long and curly hair, it is very dry and i have irritation on the scalp. i am still nursing, could it be lack of water in my body? i try to drink 8 glasses of water a day but it seems that it is not enough..i eat healthy food, try to avoid sugar. any suggestions on what to eat and drink, or hair product suggestions with brand names, or even pills to take (that do not give harm since i am breastfeeing)? thanks..

The hair on my head is naturally quite a light blonde colour, but I have all kinds of hairs (naturally) mixed in- a few brown hairs and a few that are jet black. Yesterday I found a really thick black hair on my head and it got me wondering if other people have this. It seems really odd, and I don't quite understand how your hair can be so varied, since I was taught that hair colour is genetic- i.e. there's a gene for blonde hair, a gene for brown, a gene for black etc.

The L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss range.

Give it a try, it won't cost the earth, the range is quite cheap.

I guarantee it will make your hair sparkly too!

Has anyone tried anything (pills, shampoo's, rogaine etc), and did you get favourable results?

Thanks

I have had the same hair style for 4 years and I am so sick of it. I was just wondering if anyone could help.
Details:
I'm 5'1"
Hazel Eyes
Medium brown hair about down to my bra strap in the back. (It's in slight layers now)
My current cut usually goes to my shoulders or a little below, and is layered from my chin down, but like I said I've had it for years. Also, my hair is naturally curly, meaning I need a style that requires it to be dried. I'm 22 years old, and I am a mother so I cannoit have a hairstyle that takes forever to do.
