The hair on my head is naturally quite a light blonde colour, but I have all kinds of hairs (naturally) mixed in- a few brown hairs and a few that are jet black. Yesterday I found a really thick black hair on my head and it got me wondering if other people have this. It seems really odd, and I don't quite understand how your hair can be so varied, since I was taught that hair colour is genetic- i.e. there's a gene for blonde hair, a gene for brown, a gene for black etc.

This is fairly common. I see it often with my clients.

I have blondes with random dark hairs and brunettes with random blonde, grey or white hairs. These clients are of all ages one is even only 14.

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I am a natural blonde too and my hair is also like that, never could figure out a reason why, I figured it was genetics from other people in my family but, my hair is predominately blond
