Unfortunately, there isn't anything that you can do except to cut your hair. If you don't do it, the split ends will just travel up the hair shaft causing more damage, and just increasing the amount of hair that you will have to cut in the end.
There are short term fixes like hair sealers and cholesterol creams like the one made by Queen Helene, but they don't work in the long run. They may salvage your hair for a night, but leave it vulnerable in the long run.
My advice is to cut off the split ends. It is the only thing you can do to keep your hair healthy.
As for preventing split ends: don't use really hot water to wash your hair; protect your hair from the elements (wear a hat!), and use deep conditioner occasionally. You might even consider leave in hair treatments. Also avoid extensive styling with blow dryers and hair straighteners, etc. Get your hair trimmed regularly as well (every 6 weeks or so).
You might also want to change your hair shampoo and conditioner to a moisturizing formula. I've had good experiences with Sunsilk and Garnier.

I hope my answer helped!

You need to cut them they keep splitting up if you don't. When you do go to a salon though make sure you tell them you only want the ends of your hair to be cut say it a few times that way they wont mess up and cut more than what you really wanted. If you want your hair long and healthy try doing this every 3 months just cutting the ends your hair will grow faster and stay healthier.

Hey, when I first read your question, I thought is there really a way??? To see that I checked this question and look what I found. The answer is always the same. Split ends are to go away with your hair.
Anyways, why not ask a hair dresser? If you find a way other than cutting your hair to get rid of the split ends, tell us also.

There is no way out you just have to trim the hairs. You don't have to cut it a lot just so that it gets the split ends. Besides after a trim and getting rid of the split ends your hair will grow faster.

I have this problem, as well!! I usually get a trim every few months and a stylist recommended putting a concentrated conditioner on the ends will HELP but not COMPLETELY keep the split ends away. Also, I have found not blow-drying my hair, curling with an iron, or using a flat iron or a crimper helps a great deal.

There's no way to re-seal a split end...it sucks, i know! If you don't want to get a haircut/trim, you can do a semi-trim and just takes scissors to the ends. It'll get rid of the split ends without making a difference to the way your hair looks! Otherwise, there's nothing you can do to fix them. Good luck!

A hair follicle that has a chop up end is broken previous restoration. in case you have not have been given the chop up ends decrease off they'll devour there way up the hair shaft like a percentman. you will finally end up with chop up ends from the coaching to the roots. there is not a shampoo/ conditioner which will restoration chop up ends. the sole restoration for a spit end is to have it decrease off. jointly as there are shampoo and conditioners out that make the declare of repairing chop up ends all they do is placed the two a wax or plastic coating over the hair shaft; while the coating wears off the spit is back. I even have been an approved, working in the direction of cosmetologist for 36 years +. desire this facilitates.
