Tell your mum to go to the doctors and have some blood tests to check for all the normal things like iron and thyroid etc. I have been losing my hair for over 6 months and the doctor was of no help because my blood tests come back ok. It wasn't until I went to a trichologist I was diagonised with telogeon efflium and she requested that the doctor check my ferritin levels. For healthly and normal hair growth levels need to be above 70ug/l (mine was 21ug/l) also my B12 was low at 227 and once again for good hair growth needs to be above 300. I am now on a iron supplement called florisene which the trichologists suggested I take for at least 6 months. I should notice a difference within a few months. I hope this helps, I can understand how depressing and upsetting female hair loss can be. Best of luck.

yes tell her to take some vitamin pills for hair and nails also some iron pills to.hair pills will stop the breakage of hai and strenghten it another suggestion is to tell her to gently massage her head every nite with small amounts of cocunut oil and sleep with a plastic cap on her head. neutral henna helps with shedding of the hair tell her to use it twice a month. also stop using shampoos this will increase hairloss only use shampoo when u washing out the henna. start washing ur hair with shikakai powder and once a week b4 a head bath do a hotoil massage using cocunut oil good luck

Have her go to the dr and have her thyroid tested. I have an underactive thyroid and since getting on medication, my hair has stopped falling out as bad and have new growth coming in.
