Hair - January 2007

I am severely allergic to all hair dyes, even those found in health-food stores. My hair is black and getting white (not grey) around my temples. Anything else I can do to color just the white? I have tried those "touch-up" pencils, but they are messy and sticky.

I am a white male/18. I am 25% French, 25% Polish and 50% British. I may also have some Scottish and Native American heritage. I have very thick hair. When I try to let it grow out it gets very curly (And poofy. Almost like an afro). What sort of hair styles can I have? I have kept it short for many years. I am considering growing it out. Can I? I have a friend that has long hair. He said that his air used to be like mine. He grew it out and it turned afro like. He said one day it just sorta fell down under its own wait and has been straight ever since.

If it's any help, I've been told that I have Native American hair and I have also been told that I have Viking hair.

I have tried every shampoo on the market almost and nothing seems to work. Some will work for short periods of time, but will not last.

First of all, I've heard that you shouldn't condition your hair every time you wash it. Then, I've also heard that you should deep condition it every time you swim. I swim four days a week, sometimes our practices are 3 hours long. My hair (which I had permed back in June) is curly and very dry. What kind of conditioner should I use and how often to make my hair manageably soft with defined curls? What other products can I use to keep my hair from going frizzy and poofy? Thanks for any answers.

Hi all!

just wanted to see if anyone can help me. I went to a salon about 2 weeks ago, and I asked for them to high light my hair with blonde. They did it with foil and i thought it was fine. But when i got home and tried to straighten it out, there were NO HIGHLIGHTS (only on the top layer of my hair) So I went back the next day and had them fix it. THEY FRIED MY HAIR... NOT EVERYTIME I GET OUT OF THE SHOWER, AND MY HAIR DRIES IT STARTS TO BUNCH UP AND GETS ALL KNOTTED EVEN IF I COMB IT.

ITS ALL DRY AND NASTY NOW... ANYONE KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO MAKE IT COME BACK TO LIFE.


MY SISTER SAYS I SHOULD DO AN OLIVE OIL TREATMENT, BRING BACK THE NUTRIENTS IN MY HAIR OR SOMETHING... anyone else got any tips?

I was born naturally blonde but as i got older my hair became darker, ive had it with blonde highlights before but i wanna be crazy and dye my whole head blonde! the problem is i have dark eyeborws and dying my eyebrows kinda freaks me out, so what do you think about that? does blonde hair with dark eye brows look bad, trashy?

Hi there! I am getting married soon and I am trying to figure out how I want my hair. I really want a partial updo with long flowey curls. The kind of updo you would picture on an elegant woman in a victorian or antebellum gown. Anyone know what I am talking about?

I came in as a temp, to a large corporation however I have never worked at a temp service before anyway their are no blacks at the office that I work at every assignment that I am given is always completed on a timely matter. one day the head person of the office came in and requested that someone hire an assistant mind you I have been hired to be the receptionist yet I fullfill office assistant duties I over heard the interviewing explaining what the job is and told me that I will be needed until the person is trained what should I do?

ive been trying to dye my hair a light sandy brown color but its just turns into this streaky mix of light and dark brown and red.

I've been coloring my hair since I prematurely grayed in my 20's. I let it grow out last year for my 50th birthday. I'm about 90% white. I look much older than my age and washed out. I was recently offered my senior citizen discount! I live in fear of someone thinking I'm my husband's MOTHER!
I want to add some color back with shades of blonde and light brown highlights.My beautician has never done it or seen it done. I'd rather experiment myself than pay that kind of money. I welcome uggestions on how. I'm not asking if I should.
