As a Master Hair Designer, my advice is to choose a line of professional products, Back to Basics, Matrix, Kenya, Redken are very good, and I can recommend a few more. The most important information I can give you is ...don't over condition your hair, definitely keep it conditioned but too much will pull the curl out. Also, use a wide tooth comb, or pick to get tangles out especially after shampooing. Scrunch it up with you hands and try to let it dry naturally. If that's not an option, use a diffusor, and avoid too much heat. Absolutely don't use dandruff shampoo(s). For some reason they are too rough on a perm/color. If you have to, alternate shampoos.
Not bad for free advice, why didn't your Hair Dresser advise you?

i have natural curly hair but the curling shampoo and conditioner I use are Herbal Essence's Totally Twisted and L'Oreal's European line (for curls) and Got 2 Be for curls - all work well and keep the curl - i also use mousse by Herbal Essence Set it up not the totally twisted mousse to keep it from frizzing... All hair is different but I've found the most expensive isn't always the best - oh and I let my hair dry naturally - don't ever blow it out.
