My friend died her hair last month and it is starting to brake off. what is in the dye that causes your hair to drake off and why does that chemical do it?

well did they use a box dye or have it done professionally, there is a different answer depending on who did it.

well, im guessing your friend used a "bleach" to perhaps dye her hair blonde, bleach, especially if it is overdone will cause hair to break. basically it frys your hair. there are better more natural hair dyes that dont damage your hair as much.

All hair dyes will damage your hair to an extent, that is why most come with a special conditioner which boosts your hair and makes it look healthy.

Wow, first and foremost, let me qualify myself. I am a man. So, this would seem to be a mark against me, however, have you ever really smelled that stuff? And you ask why it is not good for hair.

Gee, I remember my mom and her friends coming over and stinking up the house, and with all of the wisdom of a teen age boy, even back then, I would say...."That crap can't be any good for your hair."

Wow! So, much for equality in commonsense!

it probably damages your folicles because of the ingredients. damaged folicle won't hold hair in.
