Beauty & Style - 26 November 2007

I need the name of some sort of jacket that goes well with or is usually worn with a trilby hat. Basically, I always wanted a trilby because I'm into that sort of theatrical costume stuff. But when I finally spotted one in a shop window and bought it, my mum saw me wearing it in town (I should probably point out I'm 14) and thought it looked so awful that I am now forbidden to wear it. So I need the name of some sort of jacket (preferably from the same time period) that goes well with it so I can buy it and prove her wrong!

PS: No insults against the hat please, there's nothing wrong with being a little eccentric!!! Oh, and being an actor probably explains alot...

Hi all! I was wondering what would be good to wear to a Jazz concert at my university? It is free... so I was thinking something like a black turtleneck with jeans and black flats. Is that too casual? Do I need to go for more dressy?

I just bought fabulous shoes but they're 5 inch heels. I'm around 5"7' and a UK size 8, do you think i'm going to look too tall/skinny? Also if i wear them in everyday wear will i look odd because they're so high?

I want to be able to style my weave like it's my hair. I don't want to part it and not be able to see scalp or not be able to put it in a high ponytail without lumps and bumps. I've never had a weave before but I've seen plenty of bad ones.

Atm i have some Niki clarke straighteners. I have fairly thin layered hair, and its mid length. I want to protect my hair, and i want a really good straightener. I've heard the chi and ghd ones are brilliant, but what ones? What size iron is good for my hair, and whats the best make....any reccomendations? Also i like to curl my hair with my straighteners.....
I dont really mind how expensive they are, as long as they're good and really work.
