i've been looking for something to treat my mild acne. differin i was on for 4 months and it did practically nothing, now i'm on this oral antibiotic, but am feeling a side effect. i tried proactiv about 2 years ago for about 4 weeks, but i was too impatient. did i not wait long enough? how long does proactiv take to work?

I know every ones different but Proactive really does work for me and like yourself I only have mild acne. I can see results within about a 1 1/2 of course this is when I use it regularly. You should also try drinking plenty of water and stay clear of too much greasy food. Hope this helps.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

You could try it. My daughter started ProActiv when her acne was mild and she just continued to get worse. It sounds like you are seeing a dermatologist, stick with the doctor. I took my duaghter to see a dermatologist and it was the best thing I ever did. ProActiv doesn't work for everyone, but they do say it takes about 2 months to get the full effects.

proactiv can be severely drying to someone who does not have bad acne. Keep talking to your Dr. about the side effect of the antibiotic. For some people acne does not dissappear because it is a constant skin INFECTION- which is why antibiotics are used. Try to stick with your Dr's orders.

Proactiv is mainly for people with severe acne. I use clean and clear. I have mild acne and it works very well for me.
