Beauty & Style - 9 January 2007

Hi. I'm after some advice: i've got an interview at a bank on Friday and if i'm wearing a darker coloured skirt suit with a lighter blouse (pink), what colour should heels and hosiery be? And why does everyone seem to be plumping for stayups as opposed to suspenders/garters these days? I thought the belts worked better? Do stayups actually work for all day though? I don't want them rolling down mid-interview!! i'll definately be wearing a skirt as i don't do trouser suits. Its very difficult to know what to do but i have to create the right impression coz first impressions count! And just how short/long should i go with my skirt? i know the general guide is 1 inch above the knee but isn't that too long?? I'm after advice on proper attire coz want best chance possible. Also, when sitting down in the in the interview, is it best to go cross-legged or another position.

Hi, I'm current almost 20 years of age and I still can't seem to grow my sideburns. I'm half scottish and half japanese so that may have some reason in affecting my facial hair growth because all my mates don't seem to have problems with it. Expecially the sideburns who even the wee kids could grow. Can someone please give me some tips on growing them because this is really annoying and I hope its not genetics, cause you can't really fix those problems.

at the moment i am using cliniques lash doubling mascara, but was wondering if anyone knows any that is better, for example YSL false lash effect, or Dior false lash effect? maybe lancome etc??

Is it true that in America we have a double standard regarding womens makeup and dressing for out in public .

On the one hand alot of effort goes into pushing and keeping the chest out and cleavage showing.

Makeup put on -hair styled- alot of leg showing at times
tight jeans helping to reveal alot of curves- shoes that help to finish off that sexy touch etc., etc.

Now don't get me wrong- I don't disagree and actually enjoy visually complimenting the effort that goes into most of it...Really!

But the thing that confuses me is the attitude by the female persuasion that says..."WWwwwaaaiiitttt aaa mmiinnnuuttee !!!! Your NOT suppose to look at that...your a male pig!..married! got a girlfriend! yadayadayada!!!

It's built into the guys to react by looking ladies...if it's out there for us to see then what do you expect.

BTW: I'm happily married and both my wife and I compare notes about others dress and looks, both male and female- it doesn't seem to bother us.

I bought a pair of elbow length, lacy wool fingerless gloves. Their a light brown color. I have no idea what to wear them with.. a long sleeve shirt would cover them, but if I'm wearing a tee shirt, whats the point of wearing wool gloves? What do most people do?

i know its with a needle, but do the put all the needles in simaltaneously or is it one by one. how do they get the colour of the tattoo. i will be getting one, but i am so scared. i'm geting one on my arm, so how painful do u think it will be on a scale of 1 to 10.
is there anything which can be done so that i dont feel as much pain, such as numb cream. i've got my ear pierced a few yrs ago and that didn't hurt one bit

I stupidly went from blonde to dark and have spent 2 years trying to get it back to a nice colour. It's now blonde but yellow and everytime I try to break up the colour I get dark stripes put in. Can anyone recommend a really good hairdresser which isn't overpriced? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i have an interview working with kids at a gym. the guy said dress comfortable, jeans are okay to wear. what else should i wear? i have a feeling it's going to be an active interview. are sneakers and a regular long sleeve shirt okay? i feel weird wearing sneakers to an interview! but it is a gym! help!
