I have to make a replica of a colonial pipe for school with clay. (It can be any sort of pipe)

I'm one of the least artistic people in the world and have never worked with clay before, so I have no idea what to do.

A step-by-step guide would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Also, the pipe needs to be somewhat disguised, because it's points off if the item is too obvious. (Other students will have to try and guess what it is.)

I know this description is vague, but I'll be happy to clarify any details if needed.

Thanks in advance!

I am having problems in maintaining candle wax in its solid state for quite a while.

I was wondering if there was any possible way to make candle wax last longer in room temperature?

I am also wondering if I put the candle wax sculpture inside a glass case and somehow there is a liquid substance that would help it not to melt.

If candle wax is not the best material to be sculpted into a masterpiece, what kind of wax is well suited to be made into a sculpture?
(Note: The sculpture is approximately 25 inches tall)

It's alright if your answers are sci-fi, because I would really like to know your suggestions to answer my question. ^u^

i'm considering the purchase of an art nouveau jewelry item. both the chain & repoussé pendant are unmarked but are said to "test positive for sterling". three questions:
• does silverplate test positive for sterling?
• was silverplating being done during the art nouveau era?
• it is possible for a item from the art nouveau period to be not marked silver even though it truly is?

thanks for any informed answers!

I've been using polymer clay for 10 years now. I've read about a few polymer artists selling their artwork on ebay now I'd like to do the same. I've been an ebay user for about 4 years now.

I currently have a buyer account though I'm interested in getting a seller's account. I looked at the "how to" page on the site and it looked kinda hard.

Anyone know what is required in getting a seller account on ebay?

the form is of metal and has characters(letters) inscribed in form. The plate is 3 inches wide and 6 or 7 inches long. It is made of cast iron and appears to be a mold of some sort.

Why are most of the buildings built today boring, anonymous towerblocks with no character. Humans used to build beautiful and ornate structures, Notre Dame, Taj Mahal etc etc, why have we stopped being so creative with buildings?
