I have to make a replica of a colonial pipe for school with clay. (It can be any sort of pipe)

I'm one of the least artistic people in the world and have never worked with clay before, so I have no idea what to do.

A step-by-step guide would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Also, the pipe needs to be somewhat disguised, because it's points off if the item is too obvious. (Other students will have to try and guess what it is.)

I know this description is vague, but I'll be happy to clarify any details if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Your lack of skill is a problem, but you can use Sculpy clay since the "pipe" is not going to be used for smoking. I would suggest you look for pictures of a Toby pipe which is a head with the pipe stem coming out the back. Basically, you are making a rod to the bottom or back of a cylinder and then decorate or shape the cylinder.
