I've gone through three or four photoshop elements 4.0 books, and don't find any of them really that helpful when it comes to explaining anything beyond the basics. (maybe because it's just hard to put together a manual for it). Does anyone have a favorite book or one they think is clear and concise? I've heard "Photoshop Elements 5.0: The Missing Manual" by Bunbridge is excellent, but I don't want to get the new software version just to get the book. I know you can't learn everything from a book, but I'd like to at least have one that was clearly written and illustrated.

I'm a photographer and I'd like to sell my art. I have two questions: 1. are there laws/regulations for setting up a box/display with prints, in the street in Montreal? Do i have to have a permit of some sort?
2. where are the best places to set up that kind of thing? (which streets, corners, neighborhoods)

I am used to taking pictures of cameras that are SLR types, the lens rest on the left palm in a holding position and the right finger (pointer finger) rest on the shutter. One time i was on a friends wedding my friends laughed on the way i took their pictures using their slim type digital cameras, because i tucked my both arms to avoid disrupted images during pressing the shutter. Am i really making fool out of myself?

Okay, so I'm taking a photography class and one of my project is to do a Spider-man inspired shoot using a 35mm SLR. I'm using this image (http://baixaki.ig.com.br/imagens/wpapers/spiderman2_01800.jpg) and this image (http://www.cinematicwallpaper.com/movie-pictures/wallpapers/Spiderman_3_wallpaper/Spiderman3_3.jpg) as references and I'm wondering, using an ordinary film and without Photoshop, how can I achieve the golden tone in the photograph? Should I use a gold filter? I'm also thinking of using a diffusion filter for a romantic shot of Peter and Mary Jane. What kind of diffusion filter do you recommend? I'm thinking of a Cokin Diffuser 2.

Yes, I took this. And it hasn't been Photoshoped or touched up in any way.

And you get points for recognizing the subject matter. Actually, you get points for just replying but that's besides the point. We'll pretend it's because you know what this is a photograph of.

I just thought some of you might find this interesting:

I use PictureProject to enhance pictures taken with my Nikon D40, and they really look nice but there is no option to save them back once they are enhanced. I want pictures taken enchanced permanently. If I open my picture using Picture Manager from Windows, it is the original again, no enchance at all !!

Trying to find decent pics / vids of Gar Wood's "Miss America X" world speed record boat.

This wesite -> http://user.tninet.se/~zyo199o/garwood.htm gives some info on the subject.

After spending hours on the net all I can find are low res pics :(

Any one got any ideas where I can find some decent res pics or even better some movie footage ?

i understand about color profiles. i have my dslr set to adobe rgb (1998) and my monitor and photoshop working space is set the same. but i'm having trouble with my printer's color profile. it's an epson r1800 (and i will soon acquire a r2400). i know epson has the built-in 'spr...' profiles for various paper types. but i get dramatically different results when printing heavily saturated or 'photoshopped' images. regular photos and lightly photoshopped images seem to print fairly well.
should i set my photoshop working space to match the printer's profile? will that get me a more accurate reading?
also, i've read that srgb is a better profile for printing to desktop inkjets as rgb (1998) is more suited to pro-level cmyk conversion. true or false?
thanks in advance for all your anwers
