Who is this photographer? I used to know his name, but it's been a while...

He was a fixture on the Philly scene in the 60's and 70's. I believe he worked for The Inquirer, but he may have been a freelance or a stringer.

Hello, i like photography ( please view freewebs.com/johnnyphotography ) and i was wondering if anyone knew a good photo editing site, that requires No downloads or anything, and i would also prefer an option on the site that made the pic black and white, but one thing in the pic was it's color (ex: everything is black and white, except a purple flower)
Thank You

This is one of my favorite shots, but it is a slide that has faded over the years. The original was taken in 1981 or 1982 on Ektachrome while hanging out of an airplane door at about 1,200-1,500 feet up. Maybe it was 3,000 feet... I can't recall.

I have had an 8x10 version on display in my office for 25 years and it has finally faded to muted shades of brown, so I want to reprint the picture.

I have made one stab at editting for balance between light and dark levels and pumped up the contrast and saturation a little bit. I added some orange in the blown out highlight of the sun reflection on the river. I applied 50% unsharp mask.

What would YOU do if this was your shot?

See the original and also Edit No. 1 at this link:

Plus, is it also possible to use one of my photos of me alone and take another photo, let's say of my dog, and stick my dog beside me?
If so, how do you do both?

My boyfriend and I are going to Gatlinburg in 6 days. The last time I was down there they did the old time pictures in photoshop (what a rip off). Does anyone know of an old time picture shop that uses the authentic cameras and not photoshop to tweak the colors?

I am over matting pictures and I was wondering what I could use to keep the boards together? I am using adhesive spray but the boards don't seem to want to stick. Just wanted to know if there were any sprays or glues I could use to fasten mounting boards together?

I want to know what college has a good reputation for their photography classes. Any college recommendations will be fine, but if someone could tell me one that is in Virginia I would appreciate it.

Everyone has a favorite shot, not just because it turned out great, but because it took an inordinate amount of work to get, or maybe it was just plain luck. Irregardless, it sticks out in your mind.

How did you get your favorite shot?? Luck, skill, tenacity??

My local paper (small town, circulation est. 10,000, area population est. 50,000+) is advertising for a weekend photographer. Yes, I work during the week, but I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on what it would be like to be a weekend warrior. The ad stipulates that knowledge of digital photography is mandatory, but I think I've got that knocked - at least to the level required for their publication. I've already been published in the paper enough times that I've lost count so I know how to edit and submit to their standards.

I imagine the job would involve covering some local sports (no professional teams), festivals and events, and the occasional fire or accident, just based on what I see running already.

The geopgraphic area would not have me on the road at all as their circulation area could be circumscribed within a cirlce of about a 20 mile radius.

You know the demands of the job, so talk to me.........

Does anyone have a suggestion for a top quality stock for printing note cards with my ink jet printer? Plain index stock curls up and doesn't look right anyhow. Cover stock is not much better.

I'm not planning on selling anything, but I like to write notes and cards for various purposes featuring my own or my wife's photography. I would like to be able to give sets as gifts, also. I have seen nice pre-cut notes, but I'd be happier with a full 8½" x 11" sheet of excellent quality note paper.

I've considered cutting out 4" x 5" prints and mounting them on note cards, but that's too much work!

The more specific your recommendation, the better.

Thanks for your help.

No, it's not another picture! What started out as a simple photo in support of an answer turned into a rather interesting discussion.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnDTSIyhKUEZPXAqlPqcnRDsy6IX?qid=20070808230302AAXPXHF
Is that something we might continue here? Community Guidelines say, "Don't use Yahoo! Answers as a soapbox to vent your frustrations, rant, or otherwise violate the question and answer format. If you prefer to have discussions or chat with others, please use one of Yahoo!'s other community services, such as Yahoo! Groups," so I'm not sure how well they would receive this kind of activity. I mean, technically, this would be a discussion and a forum might be better.

Would you like to share photos for critique and pointers or is that too much like work for those of you who do this for a living? (I know how that can be and that's why I am over here so much and rarely visit the Dental section any more.)

But what do you think?

Nice replies, with thanks...By the way, JC's fave colours are maroon, blues, and black...Any of those HD's with that colour?
