Oh dear, don't worry, mobile phone 'self-portraits' are rarely an accurate depiction of your good looks!
Your 'mirror image' is the reflection of what you see with your own eyes (obviously!) ... The 'self' image from the mobile camera can never be the same. I find this sort of view fairly distorted as well.
Mozey's advice: Get someone else to take your photo on your mobile ... then you'll have a great image of your true self!
BTW, if your avatar image is really you ... wow, you are a real stunner!!!
Best of luck!

As the lens on a mobile phone is usually of a wide angle type, and photo's are usually taken quite close to the subject (arm's length) then you the image will suffer a phenomenon called foreshortening.
So now you can ask the question - What is foreshortening ?

Ok, so you're judging your looks or how you look an an image taken with one of the worst cameras ever?
There so much "wrong" going on there. The wide angle of the optics, the cheap glass or plastic used for the lenses, the low resolution, bad ISO bad image processing chips....do I really need to go further here?

because you are used to looking at your mug in the mirror and the camera will show you a different view, like listening to a recording of your voice..lol If the mirror or camera hasnt broken yet, you cant be that bad looking!!!

Me, too. i contemplate whether human beings see me the way I see myself in the reflect or what i appear like in photos. possibly in mirrors you have some stream which will supply you a extra finished image and photos of course do no longer. i hit upon the comparable ingredient tho while i seem at stay video cameras in shops. i seem undesirable in them yet no longer as quickly as I see myself in mirrors.

cos your perspective is different...If you look in a mirror your eyes interpret the image symetrically.. on a camera... te image is more seperated and so looks different..
Or something like that
