Visual Arts - November 2007

I have narrowed it down to the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II and the Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM.

After 30+ years in the business and more as a hobbiest I have tried to boil down the meaning of images. I have come to three basic conclusions. Because you are in a specific place recording what you see, here's what I interpet, all technical aspecs aside....

#1...I was there and this is what I saw.
#2...I was there and here's a detail of something you might not have noticed.
#3...I was there and this is what I felt...opening an area for artistic interpetation and effects.

Now there are a bunch of mature, intelligent and experienced people out there and I would love to make additions to this list, so I need your input.

What should i charge people for my time, when taking pictures of them? I don't print the photos myself, i send them to a online printer and go pick them up when there ready. But i do crop/edit/enhance/and everything eles. What should i charge the people i'm taking the pics of?? Anyone do this for a living know?? This is like a part time job for me, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Image must be at least 240px X 320px and not bigger than 1024px X 800px.

Image file size must be smaller than 1 MB.
I took a picture and thats how it have to be. How can i get it this way. Answer ASAP Please!

I need some people to help me think of places to look for my computer drawing pen. I know where the tablet is, I just can't find the pen. I left for the summer and my father has no idea where it is. Anyone have any ideas?

Took these pics ages ago but reworked them tonight on CS3, they were overexposed and pretty awful, so I figured I had nothing to lose.

1. Redcliffe botanical gardens.
re-layered this, ( thanks Mason), applied a radial blur filter, reduced opacity (maybe not reduced enough?)
then erased sections that I wanted to show through more sharply using eraser at reduced opacity to keep it softish.

burn and dodge.

I like the Color Wonder markers, but there are few boxes that I can look inside to see which colours they have. I want to get all the colours, and maybe do some experimenting with them for some serious art projects because I like the way their ink looks on paper.

I think the painting is of soldiers of WW2, and i believe the soldiers depicted in the painting may be blind.

I know that this type of thing has a name. It can be in any shape but they are usually pine cones. Basically, it's a stone decorative object. I think it starts with a P. Here is one example:
