Wouldn't it be better to just leave out the lines so that it will look original rather than an attempt to copy the original photo image?

Does it make me a bad or worse artist if I need visiual aids for most things when I draw or paint? I can come up with layouts and what I want to do, but if I'm drawing like a window, I'll use a picture from the internet or something for reference. I especially do this when drawing people, I cant draw them straight from my head. Does it make me a worse artist if I need to look at something for help?

I'm considering getting a new LCD monitor for photographic use. I currently have a Samsung 931B and Acer x171 (running dual monitors on Gigabyte video card -- 256mb-- and Acer is just for dragging pallettes out of way in Photoshop.) I'm considering a 22" widescreen to go down to a single monitor, but am on a fairly tight budget. I could prolly go up to 'round $350, so I know that's really limiting me.

It doesn't need to be fancy, I just need something that is sharp, true colors, and good contrast w/o being *too* contrasty.

I'm looking for actual photo samples... not a wizeguy showing me a photo of a lens with 2.8 shown on it.. OR at least some words on what you think regarding this. The "pros" that I know are telling me.. ohh. huh. i never eally do 2.8.. i guess i could try it and see what happens. Some camera shops.. don't even get that 11 is a smaller aperture than 6.. blows my mind.

Do I spend the extra money on the 2.8 capable of being fixed throughout the focal length.. vs. getting a 3.5-5 or6. looking at lengths between 50-200mm. I know it will allow for more light ... but not as much of an issue as I want blowout or blur out.. whatever ya call it - trying to achieve smallest depth of field for outdoor portrait photography. I'm just not sure it's worth the extra $ for a beginning amatuer with minimal clients or not. Next lens after this one? Probably a different body camera and lens. So I want something that will last me a bit with this camera... and work as a backup camera

The way the pictures turn out, the amount of schooling they've had, the experience, the camera... what? With all the photo editing tools available today, many photographers can edit and alter the photos they've taken.

I have recently become incredibly fascinated by Warhol, and his incredible impact on modern art, and I want to know more about him.

I read the article on Wikipedia, but I want to know random and obscure facts about him.

what do YOU know?

(and please don't make stuff up)

In a few weeks I am photographing a friend of the family's wedding. I have done other weddings in the past, but this is the only one where I actually know the people personally. It is a small ceremony in their parents' backyard. Any tips on poses or anything else would greatly be appriciated. The backyard is by woods, and they have a brick patio with a small waterfall (man made) and a lot of wildflowers. The ceremony is at 2pm, and the couple is very casual. Hope someone can help.

for my A level art project the theme is 'revealed & concealed' - i don't have a clue what to do to follow this idea

i've looked at artists such as jackson polloc, andy goldsworthy, david johnson, verushka, rachel whiteread, christo & magritte

i really just need unusual and experimental ideas for the project. so far i have got pig hoofprints on canvas, lots of random ink blots on big sheets of paper and worked into, work with water & light

any ideas will be great! =] please please help....i'm not the best at coming up with ideas but i can draw and paint etc

thank you x x x x x x x x x

So far my ideas are pretty lame - - the word spelled out in Scrabble tiles, a bulls eye, a stack of books on the subject. Maybe a face with eraser marks all around? I don't really like any of those. I'm stumped!

Technical sketching skills that is, but still not that technical. Bascially technical sketching freehand, without equipment.

I need to be able to do rough sketches before doing full working drawings.

What are some tips, techniques or methods used? I know that sketching isn't technical or method like but are there any tips I should know?

There is clear evidence of chromatic aberation in the form of the dreaded purple fringe. I have placed a red dot at each end of the fringe where it appears in this photo, which is identical to "Osprey in Tower," immediately adjacent to this shot my photostream.

The sun was somewhat low in the sky. You can tell the direction of the light by the highlights on the bird's chest and by seeing which sides of the tower steel are lit.

Fringe appears at high contrast interfaces, so I'd like to know why it is on the lit edge of the steel in some spots and on the shaded side in others, including along the Osprey's back.

Would a better lens have the same problem under similar conditions or would the fringe go away?

f/5.6 is the maximum aperture for this 70-300 VR lens at the shooting length of 300 mm.

Thanks for you help.

OK. I'm at the point right now where I'm starting to get quite a collection of drawings and paintings. When people compliment them or go into depth how much they like them and that they want to "buy" them, I secretly get really happy inside that its touching them in such away that they would actually want to buy them... but unfortunately I'm totally unprofessional in how to deal with the compliments. I kinda just brush it off like its not a big deal. I don't know it just makes me uncomfortable. Maybe deep down its because I just don't feel like I could even part with them at this point because they are so much a part of my recovery and so on...I don't know. Anyone else have this problem? I mean, they are almost all sitting unframed in the storage room...but does that mean I'm a mad lady for locking them up and not sending them out into the world?????
