I have recently become incredibly fascinated by Warhol, and his incredible impact on modern art, and I want to know more about him.

I read the article on Wikipedia, but I want to know random and obscure facts about him.

what do YOU know?

(and please don't make stuff up)

He made a time capsule almost everyday. He would gather up random things from his desk, doodles, letters, etc. and just put them in a box and date them. The folks at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh are still opening the damn things. He was also the first video artist ever. He started using video as a medium probably 35 years ago. He managed the Velvet Underground. He invented that lip & tongue Rollingstones logo. His painting "green car crash" set a new record for post-war paintings - $71 million. His real name was Andrew Warhola. Check out "Denying Warhol" on youtube. It gives fantastic insight into his work and legacy. He was a brilliant, invaluable American artist, regardless of what any one might say.

One of the first American Artist to be open about his sexuality

Often volunteered at homeless shelters serving food

and in my opinion if he were still alive would make an excellent subject for a "Reality" show. I mean, who wouldn't tune in weekly to get a glimpse of the world he created for himself and lived in. That would have been awesome!

He was very quiet, unassuming. I saw him regularly, as he and I had the same eye-doctor. He never spoke, sat quietly until it was time to see the doctor.
