This is the first time I'm buying pre-cut mats for photos, so I'm trying to figure this stuff out on my own. I found a clearance sale on 9"x12" double-matted photo mats from mat shop.com--the price is $42.00 for 25 mats (which is $1.70 per mat). The website says they're selling at clearance because they have an odd-sized opening (but just happens to be the dimensions I'm looking for). So here are a some questions.
1) Is this a good deal considering these are good quality mats (not sure if they are archival quality though).
2) Is there a clear distinction between archival and non-archival mats, or are there various gradings?
3) I read a DIY book about matting where the author said to be careful about cutting your own mats because it can lead to carpal tunnel. (I just got OVER carpal tunnel from typing so I'm not to keen on an activity that's going to put me at risk.

i need to make a paper mache' mask for art class and i have to paint it (any kind of face-an animal, alien, person, etc) but i don't know WHAT to paint on it and HOW. if u have a source, pls put the link and if you find links with pictures its better. It's due in 3 days.

Where can I find artwork, which includes natural forms or could be based on them?

I also need some information/details on the pictures/paintings/drawings/et... such as the name of the artist, date produced, and what natural forms are shown.

I have a losol ware vase it is about ten inches high, it has a white background with purple yellow and orange flowers printed round the top with dark green leaves, it also has either gilt or gold round the rim and handle I would love to know something about it. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trawling the internet but have found absolutely nothing similar ti it. Maybe it is very rare? PLEASE HELP !

I went to walgreen's today... and need to print out some pics. So i put my xd card in thier machine. And she said ten minutes. I cam back and she was like do u have a form? I asked what she meant she said for the copyright.. and i said they were my photos and i just put my own name in the bottom corner of it. She said i needed to copyright them or something.. i dunno but that i cant print them anymore there like that. til i get a form.

I'm a pretty creative person, and I sure as hell have a lot to express, but I can never seem to get really inspired to actually do anything. My drawing teacher dotes on me and raves about my ability, but it just frustrates me because I can never think of anything worthwhile to do. I'd really like to hone my skills (I took my first drawing class ever last spring), and I love to draw, but I seem to have a real mental block with getting started.

I'm sure there are other artists out there who go through this all the time, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it all.

im thinking of starting a manga and i found these 2 great books that gives me some idea on what my characters would look like but of course my char will look different but there's just some cool looking armor and clothes.....is it ok if i copy that and put it in my work if im thinking of publishing my manga?
