There are also tons of great books out there-Just brows the art section of Barnes and Noble till you find what you think would be most useful. And never underestimate the value of a good instructor, they can tell you right away what you might want to do differently, and their experience is priceless. Take classes at your school, or see if a local college offers classes you can take.
Drawing is an amazing passtime, don't give up if you get frustrated!
