A horizon line is definitely a horizontal line and that is the first one I thought of as well.

In drawing there are basically 9 lines with variations:

Describe a line in nature you see everyday.

Horizontal, vertical, diagonal, zigzag, dotted, dashed, curved, wavy, and jagged.

I already have the Horizion line, but I can't think of more.

I would consider myself a serious amateur. I will be buying a decent DSLR in the near future.

I am planning on starting a small 'business' specializing in boudoir photos. My reason for this is I love photography, and I've always been very interested in this style of photography. I think it is empowering for women of all ages, cultures, situations, to let loose and embrace their sexuality in such a way. I would love to help them feel more confident and capture this confidence for them. I suppose it is a weird thing to want to specialize in, but it also allows the freedom of being my own boss and working from a home studio.

My question is, for this type of photography, do I NEED to take college or Uni courses? I am taking tutorial type courses just to get familiar with the basics. The creative side of things I need no help with. I've heard different things about this. Basically I do NOT want to work for a large firm or anything. Just want to work for myself.

I found the Litho behind a Piccaso print that my grandparents had. The Litho is B&W and is a picture of a royal carriage being drawn by 6 horses through the snow. The Litho is on a embossed board and states that the publisher is CW Faulkner. I have been unable to locate any other prints similar to this. I believe it was purchased in europe before the war and then brought to Australia. Any info would be appreciated.

The architecture and splendid beauty of shopping malls has always inspired me. Being a photographer, it wasn't uncommon for me to bring my dSLR and take some shots in the building. Lately though, the guards have been giving me warnings not to shoot in or around the mall, including the parking lot! After that, I started using my digital rangefinder... and I still got warnings! I have gotten first and second warnings from pretty much all of my favorite local malls, and I don't want to get banned or asked to leave from my favorite mall for a few photographs, that's not how I roll. My question is, is there some kind of permit or like permission I can get that'll allow me to take pictures in there without any riff-raff?

Post script: Most of the malls in my area are either owned my The Mills or Simon, FYI.

How do celebrity websites use photos without permission? If I wanted to talk about a celebrity or politician in a negative way on my website, how can I use a photo of them ?

Is there a website that explains all this stuff?

The pelican in the pond looks proud as a peacock in his purple vest. The fringe is pretty much at every white-dark interface - right in the center of the shot. Teef did say that this was taken with a "lens of the lesser gods." Teef, maybe you can answer this question and tell us which lens you used to create this stunning array of purple...

I was helping my grandmother clean out her attic and we came across a picture of my great great great (yes it is that many greats, my mother, and sister spent 10 minutes debating, please don't bring back that headache) grandmother at her spinning wheel. It's an old black and white photo on a matte. When you angle it in the light the black areas reflect an array of colors like oil on pavement. I can only assume this is from the old chemicals used to process it (I took a photography course before). My question is what is the best way to save and restore it? And who would be the best people to take it to? Because I would like to save it and not leave it in the hands of people who don't know what they're doing. Please help me.

What's the best way to restore it and save it?
Who are the most qualified people to take it to?

As the title says, I am going to custom paint my computer. I am in need of a good brand of paint that will be used on metal. It would be preferable in a spray can form so I can just use a pistol grip with it instead of renting a compressor and gun for a few days.

Colors would be prefered to have some flake in them.

Well, I want to start drawing with oil pastels on canvases to draw scenic portraits. For example, sunsets, moonlights, and sometimes portraits of people. I will go to an art class in September, on Saturdays only since I have sports on the week days.
http://www.aroundthecornerartcenter.com/SeptClasses.htm
Here is the link above. Scroll all the way down to the teens and adult section. And the last class that says come draw with Elaine. In the meantime, I want to play around with the pastels. Is the art class good enough? Or should I do something simpler? Well, I can't do that because I only have Saturdays off. Anyways, is walmart a good store for beginners? And what would you say is the average pricing? Any other tips, opinions, comments, etc welcome! Thanks in advance!

I want to build a large turn table for posing people for photography. I have one now, but it only works for standing poses. I plan on building one out of a sheet of plywood cut in half. The finished dimensions will be 4'x4' then. Does anyone know any place for plans or at least an idea for a bearing. I was thinking of routering in a round groove in the top an bottom and using marbles for bearings. I need the bearing to be out near the edges so that it still turns under an unbalanced load condition such as the model sitting to one side. The small lazy susan bearings are too small of a diameter to work properly under this condition.

Well, I am starting to get into art. I really want to work with pastels, or even paint to make sunsets, and moonlights, and nighttime skies, and all that. However, I am just a beginner, and I don't even know where to start, or what things I should buy. Help? Any tips?
