What do you think of my new Photography website???

Question

I just got my website up and want to know what you think of it. Any suggestion and/or comment on the site and photos are welcome. Go to: www.DelNJohnsonPhotography.com I still have tons of photos to upload. Let me know what up think so far.

Overall you have created a very good site to show your work, however, there are several things that bother me.

1. I don't like having to click the Enter Site button, the home page should come immediately on screen when I go to your website.

2. The Macromedia Flash stuff seems to be too much "bling" and not easy enough to see the content. I would prefer a simpler slideshow created by something like Lightroom. I found navigating between images to be annoying with the pop up windows.

3. The copyright mark on each photo is too prominent. You could make it slightly more transparent and still protect your images. It is too distracting and may cause people to not buy an otherwise good photo.

4. Main menu is a drop down in the upper corner - that's okay once you have poked around your site a bit but not as easy as a menu that is visible on the top of the page. If visitors can not figure out how to get to the information they will simply leave the site and you will not sell as many photos.

5. It appears that your main page displays different images and that not all of them are the same size. This means there is a black bar at the bottom of some. I find this a distraction.

6. After clicking the Enter Site, while the page is loading you display your name again - lose the name we know where we are.

7. On you main page you have a very nice stylized image of your name. You also have it in the bar directly above it which is not necessary and detracts from the nice lettering. Get rid of the plain text name.

Hope you take these suggestions as helpful ways to make your site more appealing so you get more sales.

I agree with some of what the first guy said. Flash is fine with me but I felt that there are too many galleries or go out and shoot more and fill those up!
