Theater & Acting - April 2007

Hi guys. I watched Any Dream will Do last night, or something like that and I have noticed that there is a show looking for the cast of Grease from the general public too, and we have had the Chicago one last year, the Sound of Music one too and the Opera one a couple of years ago, and now The ***** Cat Dolls are looking for a replacement. Why cant we use the professionals and still follow the audition process? Are the musical companies putting decent hard working actors out of work and where does Equity (actors union) come into all of this?
(Have you guys just noticed how the word p-u-s-s-y has be asterixed out of my question? LOL

I have been searching the motifs in A Midsummer Night's Dream through the internet, but I cannot find enough information. I was able to find just one motif in a web page, yet I need more. In fact, I need your immediate help. You may send links about it or your knowledge about the play. If you can the explainitions of the motifs, I will be grateful to you.

...............Because they need specific people for the roles...judging by how they look. And, there aren't very many black, asian, indian roles in a lot of plays here..so even if you're excellent in EVERY way except you're the wrong skin color, you wouldn't be cast.
Isn't this discriminating?

i wanna get some good, yet reasonable(reasonable for 4 people at least under $300) front row tickets to see dane cook(well it doesnt have to be front row, just right near the stage). i looked at ticketmaster already but i had no luck.
anyone know any good ways to score some tickets and maybe 4 backstage passes?! any kind of info would be great!

would you kiss the actress or actor for the scene that you were hired(and paid good money to do) or would you decide...:"No way! I can't do this,,not even with some tongue!" or would you say"Sure, because it is just a character that I am portraying...it's no biggie!"
