Into the Woods...it addresses every aspect of what is beautful and good and horrible and ugly in humanity and does it in such a simple, brilliant way. We all know the characters and events of the fairy tales being told, so we are free to connect to the characters as they experience their moral dilemmas, we're not focused on following the plot line (until act two anyhow) Some might say the woods are the world, I think that the woods is a metaphor for the "gray area" of morality that we face daily. If the end is right, does it justify the beans? Must it all be either less or more, either plain or grand, is it always or, is it never and? Oh, if life were made of moments, even now and then a bad one...but if life were only moments, then you'd never know you've had one.
Beautiful beautiful moments, tragic ugly moments, moments of fear, hope, love, hate, honor, mistrust, birth, dying, creation, murder, and ultimately forgiveness....if you read between the events, there's a code to life that we all should follow a little.

I personally love musicals that change theatre by breaking rules. So its between Rent, West Side Story, and Lion King.

at the moment it has to be "jersey boy's" the touring cast. All great guys and the songs are great; never a dull moment. But my all time favorite would be "phantom of the opera". Nothing beats the first five min.

hmmm it's hard to narrow it down...I'd say some of my favs are Sweeney Todd, Songs for a New World, Cabaret, Chorus Line, Jekyll and Hyde, and who doesn't love Wicked?
Basically anything by Jason Robert Brown or Sondheim is great.
