I'm sure partly to keep people awake and from doing anything other than watching the movie.

Also the more people that pack into a closed theater the more body heat they put off from being so close together which creates heat. Which is how they hope everyone will stay warm.

Pack three or four hundred people into a closed room sitting shoulder to shoulder for 90 or more minutes without a temperature below 77 and you will know how many haven't taken showers and put on some deodorant by the almost chewable smell.

Yes! I always bring a blanket along with me when I'm going to see a movie. If not, I freeze to death!

Hmm. That's a good question. Well i guess they would rather it be cold instead of hot because we can put on jackets but we can't strip down in public.

Because when you're cold you tend to eat more. Hence the creation of concession stands.
