I want to get into acting and I was just wondering do you have to pay for an agent or do they just take a cut of your paycheck?

Legitimate Talent Agents are entitled to a 10% commission on the money you earn from acting jobs.

They are NOT entitled to additional money from the actor.

If you have a problem regarding money for an agent, contact the Department of Labor (in your State) and they will investigate.

In New York State, Talent Agents are governed by the Department of Labor.

By most laws in most states, they always take their cut from the check, which is usually 10-20 percent.
