"Snow Falls" tommy_caswell2000@yahoo.com

In the brisk night of winter, snow falls soft and light,
you, soft and silky, warm and clean, wander in night.
Your mind a maze of beauty, your thoughts fall like snow,
clean and white and gentle, you illuminate a peaceful glow.

Snow falls with valor, it piles up and makes a grand presecene.
I awake to hold you close, and snuggle in your aromatic essence.
Drifting off as one together, nature is singing in our quiet merge.

Hoping in our silence, that this moment in time, will only purge.
what is in our heart,, as we share this special gift of care,
snow falls with valor, as we no longer feel lonely despair,

happiness prevails,, if only for the moment,, that "Snow Falls"

I am wanting to start writing childrens books. Here is one I wrote a few years ago tell me what you think. Thanks.....

LITTLE ABIGALE
ABIGALE’S CHRISTMAS WISH

Abigale wants to know,
If it will ever snow.

“Mommy why is there no snow?” she asked
“It has to do with the weather outside.” replied her mom
“When the temperature is really cold,
The rain will turn into snow.”

With this Abigale went to her room,
Where she placed a wish and hoped it would come true.

Christmas is just two weeks away,
And by her window Abigale would stay.

Then one day her mom came to Abigale’s room.
“What do you want for Christmas?” her mom asked
“I want a white Christmas” Abigale replied
“No toys, no games, no bike?” her mom asked puzzled
“Nope, all I want is a white Christmas and that’s it.” Abigale said positively

For the next week Abigale sat and waited for the snow.
But her mom just didn’t know.

waking up at 6 a.m.
is always such a drag,
you rub those heavy eyes of yours,
"it's another day...", you say.

another day awoken,
by the dreadful buzzing sound,
it's sound so annoying,
it just drives you insane.

you prepare all your stuffs,
before you go to school,
rushing so you wouldn't be late,
and wouldn't get detention.

your endless complains are heard,
all throughout the day,
"why this?!", "why that?!",
"I can't take it anymore!".

just when you were about to break,
you crashed into them,
a smile appeared on your face,
for you questions have been answered.

"now I know..." you happily say,
as you helped them up,
you survived all these years,
because you have your friends.

every problem you meet,
your friends are always there,
now you finally learn that,
at the end of the day...

...all you've done,
all you've been through...

...it's all worth it.

If I should die before I wake
don't feed my monkey for goodness sake
For on my back he waits to see
if I can stop Y/A, then laughs at me
Evil monkey, that little creep
He overtakes you while you sleep
So If I'm gone I'll guarantee
Evil monkey will resurrect me
...hee hee

For 10 points for best answer write a poem in 10 words or less, not including title. And I'll go with the voters.
I'm wondering if the "micropoem" is possible, without managing to sound completely "meaningfully challenged".

The reason I ask is a tiny one I was just struck on leaving as is. This one's supposed to be ominous (duh) but deep.

The second last word is supposed to be italics but I dunno where that option is on Y!A:

identity.

Who are we?
Who are we?

We are.

Body of Water
Written By Semper Fi Reborn

In my heart there was a drought,
That made my soul cry out in anguish.
I yearned to be quenched of this misery,
But sought refuge in malice.
Woe was my only companion,
Because only sin would lend me an ear.
Boy, oh boy did I speak to sin.
Sinking deeper within.
Losing myself.
Losing period.
Until a friend said to me,
Look man,
Take hold of yourself and rise up!
You were not meant to die in the sand.
So why are you thirsty?
Won't you drink from the cup of hope?
My thirst was ravenous,
And this cup overflowed with goodness.
I drank and drank.
Spilling nary a drop.
My thirst passed away.
And my eyes were at that moment opened.
I saw that the cup was not a cup at all.
But was the Word of God.
Which Is a Living Body of Water!
Are you thirsty?

Through Tears
Written By Semper Fi Reborn

You never know what,
Lays within a person's heart.
What drives them to anger,
Or rips them apart.

You cannot feel,
What others feel within.
There's no sensors for it,
There's no prickly pin.

Only your ears,
Can hear someone sob.
Your heart can't replace,
What from their heart has been robbed.

You must listen,
To all their needs and fears.
Open the doorway of your soul,
While you listen through tears.

A Poem for the depressed

Guardian Angel

She comes to you on silent wings
Where most angels fear to tread
With a loving heart so golden
Touching souls of fragile thread
She listens with a caring heart
She sees with a gentle soul
Her smile warm as the morning sunshine
To fill the hearts deepest hole
A happy face to those she greets
Guardian angel, who was placed on Earth
Into light you draw them, away from the dark
To feel at this moment, someone has worth!

This poem was about a child (I think male) who witnessed his mother having some free expression of herself - in the moonlight as I recall. I so long to have the words to this poem. The only line I recall (I think) is "I do not mind."

THE DIAMOND

Diamond sparklecarbonating,
Flickerflash dispersionating.
Harder than hard, brighter than bright.
Facetflashing crashing splashing,
Wonderworlds of magic light.
Gem of wonderiferating superlatives:
The diamond is a poem,
It lives.

SONNET 73
That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth take away,
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed whereon it must expire
Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by.
This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

it was written for someone.. he knows who he is....

I lay my head slowly,
upon the snow white pilliow.
A scent fills my lungs,
that I long to cling to.
It smells just like you do,
the same strange sweet smell.
I'm reminded your with me,
and your arm comes around.
It protects me from danger,
while holding me tight.
You slowly caress me,
your warmth fills my soul.
But I slowly drift from you,
yet your still by my side.

... the original was better, but i needed to clean it up a bit.. so please forgive my sudden ending.

Well I don't think its that great but anyways, Im thirteen. And I wrote this cause I was bored, so don't worry I wont grow up and kill everyone...Or will i? [shifty eyes] mwahaha...Ok sorry...Heres the poem.

As I walk down the street, my eyes no one will meet
Is it humorous that I'm alone? Will I ever feel complete?
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm crying
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm dying

They're glares pierce my skull
To everyone I'm null
No one really cares
That I'm dripping with despair
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm crying
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm dying

Why am I so diverse
Do they hear my curse
They wont be laughing when I kill
My promise I will fulfill
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm crying
I walk in the rain because no one can see that I'm dying

Thanks for reading! Any suggestions will be appreciated and if u don't like it please tell me why... :)

mommy

I don't want to go today,
My tummy aches, don't want to play.
I don't want to go to school,
Can't go outside I know the rule.
I'm scared to death, just play ill,
I don't care if I have to take a pill.
I never want to ever go back,
I'm too young for a heart attack.
Can't you see I can't go back,
I don't want any books to stack.
He is always touching me,
Can't you even try to see.
He's hurting me, leave me alone,
Locked in a room with no telephone.
Mommy, why won't you believe,
I'm your little boy, I'm little Steve.
I can't go back, it hurts too much,
I don't want him, I hate his touch.
Please someone, I'm just a child,
Didn't you ever wonder, I never smiled.

How is Leda described? What words suggest her helplessness? What phrase suggest the swan's mystery and divinity? And what events are alluded in the lines

"The broken wall, the burning roof and tower
And Agamemnon dead."

liar

Built upon your house of cards,
My heart in pieces, razor sharp shards.
Lies are what you do best,
Rodents, insects, you my pest.

You play with my feelings dear,
Checking out others with a leer.
Someday soon your time will come,
I'll make sure your days are done.

Deep within the depths of hell,
Brimstone, fire, a tolling bell.
All the times you fooled me girl,
Your heart's as tiny as a pearl.

Even though you think you've won,
I know you;ll never see the sun.
Fire cleanses I've been told.
Corpses, bones and bitter cold.

As you ponder what went wrong,
Satans minions sing a song.
I'm glad you're gone you evil whore,
As I speak, Hell spews forth more.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

whats the meaning of this poem?
i have slight clue, but im still a little confused.

Eden's End

Oh my my, look at you there
So sweet, so innocent...so delicious
Oh lord, I can't take my eyes off of you
You're vibrant, intoxicating, and oh so taken

Oh no, I can't help myself around you
I'm somebody else when I'm with you
Somebody I like, somebody that likes you
You're everything I want, I need, and then some
We could be good together, but we're not together

Sweet Jesus, I know I'm in trouble
You've already gotten under my skin
You're stuck in my head and i can't get you out of there
The worst thing is that I don't honestly want to get you out
We can't help who we fall for, but that's no excuse

Here I am, stuck between right and wrong
Struggling with the choice before me
The right thing might send me to Heaven miserable
The wrong thing may send me to Hell happy
But is this forbidden fruit worth the price I'd have to pay

EXIT

This is the last of many for now--
A finale reluctantly offered?
The trophy collects dust in a dark corner,
And I try to leave that by which I've suffered.

The world out there may have missed me
These long months aloof from reality.
Time doesn't stand still for a writer
Who cares far too much for vanity.

A supernova? No. A regretful goodbye;
A thank-you, to those who have been kind.
But I'm trying to run from the lies and fear
That have stabbed my heart and burdened my mind.

It is not enough to be called great--
I think one must believe, or find it out to be truth.
Flattery's gift is little more than an empty high,
To crash from, as expected, and earn one more bruise.

But I think I'll come by once in a while,
To hail old aquaintances, and post what I've scrawled;
To find if I'm remembered, forgotten, or missed.
But here I make my exit, and goodbye to all!

I'll miss you. Maybe I'll be back soon...but it's time for me to use my time more wisely.
