It may seem so as we find more time alone when out of love to look into our thoughts... which in the time of excitement and pleasure are invisibly put aside. For when lovers are at the fantasy of their senses;..no time matters, no place exists, no other thoughts but the thought of love --- at its presence. So the chance for poetry comes scarcely few. But then, once love breaks up and lovers are left in a silence of each own, each turns to something for emotional release...And the sad poetry begins.

I do, but I have a broader definition of poetry, which includes song lyrics... this allows for more positive love than negative.
I keep thinking about the poem that sounds like a breakup, and then, at the end, you realized the girl hasn't left him, in a breakup, she died...
However, in song lyrics there are very positive statements about love.. Clint Black's " When I Said I Do:"... Madonna's " Just Like A Prayer" Amy Grant's " Heart In Motion" " Wind Beneath My Wings" and more are some of the most positive love tho'ts out there.

im not sure..but in the end, it depends on the author..what we write or even say are a manifestation of what we feel inside..i noticed as well in poetry that some of the most beautiful passages has a tragic ending...i guess its because human find the emotion overwhelming..when love is too sweet..we feel light and carefree but if it turns sour or if something happens, it overwhelms us that we need to a way to express it..and the best way is to express it to writing...emotions flow through the words written and that is why you are able to compose the most beautiful poetry through tragic experience..
