Maybe today isn't the best day of the year to ask this, but I will, anyway.

I think suicide must have effected most people in some way another, whether it be through a friend's taking his/her own life, one's own attempted suicide, etc. I have been touched by it mroe than once, and been left to see the way it effected others. The thought of it still scares me.

What is your story? Thank you, and peace to all.

It's for my favorite teacher whenever I graduate from middle school and go into high school:

We were buddies, amigos, friends. We shared too many memories to count. Thanks for listening to me.

Everyday I said good morning, I said goodbye every afternoon. Whenever I said, "Have a nice weekend, Mr. Boley," it was always said in a cheerful way. Thanks for listening to me.

Our little jokes we shared makes me wish I'd never leave, and when I do, will you remember me? In 10 years, will you think back to that girl who wasn't afraid to be a dork in front of everyone? Thanks for listening to me.

Art was fun, especially when I drew ninjas and dragons, and had glory, at least for a while. Youwere the first one I shwed it to, "God job, Nicole," you'd aften say, I smiled and was modest, "It's not that good, really.." was my usual response, I knew my art was good, and you did, too. Thanks for listening to me.

I'll always be a kid, and if I am, will you be one with me, too? I may be small, but I'm going to be famous someday, just ou wait. And when I accept my awards, I will say, "Thanks for listening to me, Mr. Boley."

I leave middle school behind, and head into the great unknown. Maybe someone will listen to me as well as you did. Most likely not. If we never meet again, you won't be forgotten by the class of 2012. I will remember you. Try not to forget me, like so many others will. Mr. Boley, thanks for listening to me, teacher man.

Always,
Nicole

Remember these words-

"Sing your song, dance your dance, tell your tale."

Anorexia

Anorixic beauty queens
They call this perfection?
Storming down a cheap catwalk
Led in the wrong direction.
Magazines scream "diet plan"
The tabloids cry "lose weight"
And girls with low self confidence
Let them decide their fate.
Avoiding their reflection
Denying they are ill
pushing at size zero
Until their hearts are still.
Let's live by the old cliche
True beauty dwells inside
Perfection is a fairytale
So hold your head with pride.

till i met you
you brought me something
something quite special
something quite new

i have never felt like this
wanted anything so much
i feel pure bliss
wanting this more and more
even having never felt your touch

how i long to be there
helping you through aches and pains
i would sacrifice because i care
i'm in love i know
i know for sure
no thinking twice

i'm hoping you feel the same
because to me...
this isn't a game
this is serious
and i want to know...
with the up above,
do you agree?

now that we know
we will be together
we'll do this right
blow by blow
step by step,
we'll take each others hands,
we'll soar
like birds of a feather

what do you think?is this good?or bad?critism please...thanks.

(The last two verses will have to fit into the details. So please wait until you've read all of the poem before throwing stones through my window.)

A Poet's Lament

When ten thousand poets, pen in hand,
scream outward in anger with their might,
their words flow like blood upon the land
as ten thousand blinded by the light ---
while ten thousand lovers do no right.

With ten thousand muses from above,
each one involved in us finding love,
us losing love, us forsaking love,
poets always seem to feel it worse;
these broken hearts seeping endless verse.

As ten thousand souls, misunderstood,
in relationships they know that would
bruise them, bang them, slam them to the ground,
ten thousand poets will soon be found
explaining pain to the world around.

With ten million single men out there,
ten million single women somewhere,
what would happen if they wisely chose
a good-hearted mate from one of those —
a returned love that they could share?

From Debi Gliori's " No Matter What"
It did read " But what about when we are dead and gone, will you love me then, does love go on?"

"look at the stars, how they shine and glow, some of the stars died a long time ago. Still they shinein the evening skies, for you see, love like starlight never dies"...

Now it reads:
" But what about when you're far away
Does your love go too, or does it stay?
Look up at the stars, they're far far away.

But thier light reaches us
at the end of the day.

It's like that with love
we may be close, we may be far
But our love still surrounds us wherever we are."

Granted, it's still a lovey thought but, I special ordered the book to give to a girl whose mother is dying...
and now the point of it is buried , needs to be interpreted..

Does anyone know where I can get the original version?

I need to know the name of the type of poetry where you take a word and write it vertically down the page and each line begins with a letter from that word. Such as:

Cute and cuddly
A mouser extrodinaire
Tiger is her muse.

Which has CAT as the base word. What type of poetry is it?

Let me start by saying
How much you mean to me
I love you more than words can tell
But that you will never see

You are my reason
For getting up each day
If you were to leave
It would hurt more than i can say

I loved you once
I love you still
I always have
And always will

I will never let
These feelings show
Because about them
You can never know

I will never show them
So my heart cries
But my face smiles
Cause evceryday i just spill out lies

For now we have to be friends
For reasons unknwon
As well as the obvious
My feelings cannot be shown...

The stairway.

She could only sit for a minute or two
But each day at at 12 she was there.
Pulling the sticky notes off of her back
And ripping the gum from her hair.
She never reduced to mere crying
She would not give them any gain
So she sat in her spot on the stairway
And fought back a day's worth of pain.
Her eyes were fixated on one spot
But her ears were scanning around
Her personal radar alerting
On any unwelcoming sound.
The one thought that kept her from falling.
Was that no one knew she was there
Protected by railings and echoes
Ske knew she was safe on her stair.
The days just got harder and harder
Even the stairs were not keeping her sane
For the fist time she cried for those monsters
But she would not cry for them again.
She crawled to the top of her stairway.
And gave it a due last goodbye.
The one place that kept her protected
The one place she wanted to die.
She felt the air moving beneath her
Preparing for contact with land
But she was no longer falling,
Someone had took hold of her hand.

i know it's a long poem

I'm sitting under a tree
with no one to bother me
i have a book in my left hand
an a apple in my right
while chewing on my apple
on ther other side i spotted a bite
mysteriously i inspect it
yet don't know how it came to be
until i spotted a couple of eyes
from up in the tree
staring back at me
its eyes were very strange
yet as it came into the light
it stud on two feet
an came into my sight
yet as i started to inspect
i found it strange
i wanted to know
why a monkey had bitten my apple
and from where it came?
so as i started to laugh
the monkey got mad
and started to scream
bananas flew everywhere
but missed there target
which was me?
so as the monkey got close
i ran away
but slipped on a banana peal
while the monkey laugh away
then i heard a noise
that sounded strange
it was my mom screaming
wake up!
the zoo is going to close
you're going to make us late!

Starving Poet

Exhaust coughs it’s way out
nastily choking fans
and on lookers
as by passing supporters
wail on horns

My hands ache from the cold,
it starts snowing
people coming
people leaving
and there’s two dollars in my hat

The smell of java fills my nose
I continue spouting
words I wrote
some people looked confused
still change is being tossed

It’s almost midnight and I wonder
why these strangers are still here
some are sitting now
on the side walk
completely content

I’ll go back to the alley soon
and these strangers will
all go to a comfy home
my friends will have the barrel ready
to cook some meat tonight

Tomorrow is just another day
I think I’ll
get some coffee
and maybe there’ll be
enough change to go around...

Friggin' Chicken!

A solid kick
and feathers fly
"You friggin' chicken,
that was my eye!"
I feed and clean
your crappy cage
You come full force
with poultry rage
My hands are scared
'cause of your beak
You caught me down
you friggin’ sneak
I'd starve you but,
you'd only get thinner
And as of now, I’m
contemplating dinner
Chicken salad?
no, maybe fried.
Perhaps in chunks
along with fries
Oh now, I've got you,
be no doubt
This is your last
adventure out
Ouch, ya G*d
forsaking bird
Those friggin' claws,
they truly hurt
Ok, you've won
this round for now
But, tomorrow's menu,
chicken kungpow

Lowly One

Just one lowly
person
in a billion plus
crowd
Amazin' how they
impact
Someone who's feelin'
down
It could be by a
comment
It could be by a
smile
What ever minor thing it
is
Could make one's day
worthwhile
In such a dark and tainted
world
Someone is lucky to
find
Another lowly
person
With a heart as big and
kind
Next time you're out just look
around
For one who looks
"ho‑hum"
Smile and wave or even say
"hi"
And cheer up that
lowly one

Painted Daze

Day one,
I woke up
to a "green country" sky
Four shades of gray
overhead passing by
Rumbles of thunder
echoed through the air
While flashes of lightning
struck everywhere

Man, I'm outta my mind '
cause I'm outta my meds
Dreary days feed depression
and send you to bed
But, not today,
I can ride out the storms
Paint the sky a bright blue,
paint the winds a calm warm

Day two,
I woke up
to the sound of the rain
Black were the skies,
I can do it again
A rat‑a‑tat tapping
broke in from the hail
A patter‑pat‑pat
as the leaks hit my pail

And I am outta my meds
overcoming this dread
Bite my tongue or my lip,
hold it all in instead?
Paint my house a bright pink,
nah, that color stinks!
I think I'll paint it like
a zebra with a "flirty" wink
(Ya, I will)

Day three,
I woke up
with the sun shining in,
Blinding me straight up
from bed to begin,
Pulling down all the shades
on every window
Then little by little,
let the light in slow

You Can't Tell.....

You can't tell,
To me it doesn’t matter
if you're leaving here today
I told you,
You were about to shatter,
everything that was going great
But, you said "Oh,
I would never do you,
do you and break your heart"
Oh, somehow,
All along I had the feeling
you had lied from the very start
(chorus)
You can't tell me that you ever loved me
You can't tell me that you really cared
It surprises me,
just how long I could take it,
Your games being so unfair,
And you couldn’t tell,
that the love was no longer there
You can't tell,
To me it's so repulsive
you always being gone
I told you,
You need to spend some time
Cause you're not the only one
You said "Hey,
I'm not the only parent,
you had a part in this too"
What the hell, gave you any rights
to treat us the way that you do?
(chorus)
You can't tell me that you ever loved us
You can't tell us that you really cared
It surprises me,
just how long we could take it,
