The styles of time
TD Euwaite

Each person floats in the time/space continuum
A spool of thread on the sewing machine
Close your eyes and become the bobbin…
A fabric is woven as each strand, our
Biological, intellectual, emotional and spiritual fibers
Flows through a device of design

The Earthbound weaving machine, this loom
All inclusive, knits a tapestry out of these threads
As we uncoil our strings, the colors of life change
Our moods, red letter days, the blues
Time is that space between the knitting needles
Time is that exact instant
When all our threads intertwine

Plans and preparations exist only in our minds
We see the interlace coming a only few moments before
Far too close to realize
“We don’t like the color.” Too late!
The loom gobbles up our threads and we are stitched
Into the fabric of time

I need to analyze the poem "Sea Spell" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and the painting "Sea Spell" as well.

Anyone know good websites that analyze it, like symbolism, literacy devices, meanings, stuff like that.

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

sands of time

Deep within my fractured heart,
Strangled by my own cold, dead, hand.
Agony makes it's own desperate stand,
Feasting on my leftover tears.

False idols, pagan rites and a crown full of thorns,
Aborted and still, I was never ever to be born.
Silent choirs spreading ancient lies,
In the midst of a billion muted sighs.

Millions of souls cry out in anguish,
Will I be cleansed before I die?
The sands of time never will run,
There is just one thing left to be done.

Take my soul to the darkest of realms,
Reality is just my only dream.
Secrets echo beyond these stone walls,
With tears in my eyes, I can muster a scream.

"Love Untold"
A vegetarian sandwich with extra tomatoes,
I was always happy to serve it with a smile on my face.
I could just feel my breath begin to speak,
but I was much to shy.
It's like staring at her with my eyes closed.
She'll never know.
She just comes here everyday order's a vegetarian
sandwich with extra tomatoes to go.
But,"where she goes?", I don't know.
Within this world of carnivores,
I never stole a moment of happiness around them.
There's not many place's for vegetarians to go.

In my 6th grade class, we have to write a Christmas poem. It has to go like Twas the Night Before Christmas's rhyme pattern. It can be about anything Christmas-related though. Does anyone have any ideas for a funny poem about Christmas? I want a hilarious idea.

I truly don't think this is a very good poem, but I'd like to know what you all think.

Thanks in advance.

~The Troubadour~

Isn't it strange, the way we regret
The loss of what has hurt us yet?

One day I met a troubadour.
He was rather blunt, and my feelings were injured.
But it was just what I needed.

"You have a mind, you know what it's for.
Write me a poem filled with your heart.
But if you will not write well, do not ask me to praise it."

I wrote him my poems--I showed him half my soul.
He flattered, and smiled, and I walked away.
Friendliness worried me, and the day turned rainy.

I have learned that two bad halves do not make one whole.
I learned that I should not have stayed.
I should have left, and thus escaped;

And yet I linger where he may see me,
As a shadow, that has already said goodbye.
Oh, sometimes I whisper when the dusk's light is soft:

How can I forgive you
when you hurt me?

How can you live,
when you've abandoned me,
and broken promises you couldn't keep?

How can I heal inside
if I know you won't be here
to love me
the way I should be loved?

How do you sleep at night
when you don't take time to call
to even see about me?

Just leave me in the middle of nowhere,
just 3 months old,
to get your fix,
and drink your drink,
but where was I in your mind?

Was I even in your heart?

I feel like I'm still that child
waiting for someone's love,
someone's affection,
and someone to give me the time of day,
and you're still out there
place unknown,
hurting yourself
and hurting me.

Do you ever get tired?
I just wanna push you away,
because you're no good like this
.
I wish you were my real mother,
and not someone who gave birth
to something.

"Two birds with one stone"
(both topics suggested to me, in the same poem)

------------------------------------------------

Is that cupcakes, I smell?
Chocolate's scent, from where the oven dwells?
It is cupcakes! I could eat a pound.
Can't wait to hear the oven door's sound.
Fresh and hot and round!
I could finish you in a bite!
But I savor you slowly, enjoying your life.
My savior so holy, is that you I see?
Come quick everybody!
Jesus is back! On my cupcake!
Well, would you look at that!
Jesus is pulling my teeth out and making me fat!
O! holy cupcakes! Thou must be divine!
To have shown my Lord and savior on such a tasty flavor!
My sister found you and ate you...
have you forgave her?

Swing the scythe lively, lads
Harvest’s upon us now
Barleycorn’s brown, ready to malt
Fire the peat slowly
Spring water and grist to grind
To sweetwort in washback
Lively yeast is applied

Into the still goes the wash
Caldron will bring us low wine
Then into the spirit still
Last to the oaken barrels
Then stored by the sea
For a very long a time

The Yanks make good Bourbon
Tennessee fired oak style
Using the casks just one time
Send them to Scotland, men
We’ll store strong drink within
To be sipped on,
In thirty years time

In the name of God, Amen.
In men, with names unwritten
For our sovereign, James
Virginia we claim, for the King!
In the year…Anno. Dom. 1620

Covenant and combined together,
Civil Body Politick named.
Proclaimed, order and preservation,
We hereby enact, constitute and frame
A just set of laws of equality

At Cape Cod on November 11th
A promise we make to the King,
Your obedient and submissive colony
All for thee, Lord of Brittan, France and Ireland,
Our Sovereign, fret not, we’re so far away.

I've been running from sleep.
It keeps in pace, steadily at my back.
I'm hunting for restlessness.
Sleep must soon attack.
I keep running, thinking I can't turn back!

zzzz zzz zzz

...No! Wait! I'm back! I'm back!
As I lay in bed, between a leaning room's cracks...
I think to myself...will my room detatch itself in my sleep?
Not really caring, soon to be counting sheep.
Sleep is a game, and I might finally win!
Yet, still I fight it; not wishing my battle done.
I've fought with sleep so much...I think I may be done.
After all, sleep makes "tomorrow" sound fun.
I unlace my running shoes, and 3, 2 ,1..............................

The Poet: Forecast

Winds have not begun, yet.
Silent...too silent. A hush.
Water in the sky, rivering
Thru beds of December...

The hunting cats approach,
Each ghosting thru the woods,
Padding...silent...too silent.
Wolf stands bristled. Knows.

She looks at me. Bristled...
Knowing the forecast
Of pen to paper...
Storm...carnage.

Should I be less grateful; simply more amused?
I don't know... I feel as though it could be truth...
Feeling winds gently blow, mind grows quickly.
My heart not feeling all so sure though; can it be protected?
I'm extremely proud to be an American; my past is respected.
If I'm called upon I'd know I'd show. My feet aren't rooted.
Would my strategems be useful; would I be recruited?
I would never let my home team down. I'd help as best I can.
After all, I'm of a military fam...I had wished to be a soldier.
And then, my dear friends I surely did get older.
I love you so much I can hardly speak of my love!
You being angels I know, I can love and respect.
My heart and mind be with you all day. Oh may...
May I please, say I love you so?

What is that sad song
I hear out my window
The funeral march
For our lost liberty

The banner draped coffin
Contains only memories
Of how we fought bravely
And heroic deeds

The choir is singing
Glory Halleluiah
Tears of the soldiers
Official decree

We pile the dirt on
As mourners weep softly
For here lies the future
Mediocrity

Chicken wire patch job
Holding up my melon
Too much imagination for my neck
I walk kinda’ funny
Like a bear that’s drunk on honey
What the heck…
The brain is all I’ve got,

If I forget to remind you of my habits
As I reach into the rabbit for my hat
Keep count of all your fingers
And the scent that lingers
Come along…
The show’s about to start,

Stand back…little kiddies
Don’t try this at home
I plan to play the bongos with head
The crescendo, Maestro please
Neapolitan Dance, Number Three
Here we go…
A boy, with flexible noggin,

And the crowd goes wild
As he demonstrates the style
Of banging with his head in perfect time
What a joy and what a pleasure
To the observe the very measure
Of a skull…
A heart…and a liver.

I have a poetry presentation comming up, and I'd really like to do the poem "Exodus Poem" (I don't know if it has any other name) by Utada Hikaru that she preformed on her Utada United tour. Does anyone know the actual name of this poem? Does she write other poetry? I though it was wonderful. Also, is there a site where I can go to that has a good translation of it other than wikipedia? Also, if she has any other poems, where can I find them on the internet?

Torn Art
My heart is black, burnt by the actions of you,
You speak, and we hear the cries of the abused.
An ethereal being, made from the dark,
the night is your breeding ground, your area of delight.

I used to love you, never wanted to be apart,
But you changed, what happened to my sweet piece of art?

Angels in heaven, being of light,
they were once jealous, jealous of your elegant parts.
Skin of lace, hair of gold,
a voice so angelic, it was meant for heaven to behold.
Breath of roses, eyes of sweet ice,
I wanted to hold it, I wanted to be a part.

What happened to your innocence, what happened to your heart,
I want to see it bleed, hear it beat, give it a new start.
Where did your love go, did it fly away,
did those envious stares finally have their way?

Now your words just drop like acid tart,
just like your soul, You're falling apart.

One Day Soon
Written by Semper Fi Reborn

One day soon I'll look up,
And see my Lord right in front of me.
At that moment,
Remember all the things He's done for me.
Then fall to my face,
Worshipping His Holy Name.
All the while rejoicing,
That He finally came.
That's how it will be,
One evening.
One morning.
One afternoon.
That's how it will be one day soon.

One day soon,
The old things will pass away.
New things will flourish,
On the morn of a new day.
Precious stones shall lay,
Right beneath my feet.
Every soul in presence,
Will be complete.
Will be renewed.
Will be on display.
That's how it will be one day.
