In the name of God, Amen.
In men, with names unwritten
For our sovereign, James
Virginia we claim, for the King!
In the year…Anno. Dom. 1620

Covenant and combined together,
Civil Body Politick named.
Proclaimed, order and preservation,
We hereby enact, constitute and frame
A just set of laws of equality

At Cape Cod on November 11th
A promise we make to the King,
Your obedient and submissive colony
All for thee, Lord of Brittan, France and Ireland,
Our Sovereign, fret not, we’re so far away.

And now we have another Sovereign Lord. November 11 is such an important day in our history--the signing of the Japanese surrender on the 11th month, the 11th day and the 11th hour. How ironic is this! As for the poem itself, it makes me sad. You've expressed the irony so well. Thank you.

Good stuff, Maynerd. Hey, that other guy seemed to have good advice. Someone could lift your poem, claiming it was theirs unless you had it copy written.

don't put your poems on here people could try to steal them unless you have them copy righted. it's ok seems a bit stale for my taste.
