Once we have left the theistic world and no longer look to the heavens to dictate morality, it seems we encounter a rather complex problem.
From an Existentialist point of view, in which life has no inherent meaning and where we have no proof of any higher creator, we are free to do as we wish.
In this world it seems that individuals create a subjective framework, a personal ethos, whereby they assign morality and value to whatever actions they wish.
We choose which value systems to follow, but even this choice is not is entirely free, our values will always be affected by our society and place in time.
Any choice we make will be without universal foundation and will only be as viable as the people and societies who create them. These values and morality will be short lived and constantly changing.
In the end, there can be no true morality, the morality that we fabricate, our ethos, is only a reflection of personal preference relative to our society and time.

"Nothing exists except through human consciousness" -George Orwell, 1984

Reminds me of an old riddle.
Q: "What was the tallest mountain before Mount Everest?"
A: Mount Everest. It just wasn't discovered yet

I'm not saying if it is big things like, which college i shall go, or what kind of job I'll do and who I'll get marry with ----- etc.. but it's all about petty things which are small, but when it happens, it could just give a big effect to my next action in a day....and, it frequently happens. whenever i feel something as '"it's ok" or "this is fine", it's actually not, and there would be something coming up later on, which i should've just taken an action on it. but, whenever i already made a thorough plan on something, took the effort, do this and that, with all the stuffs as a preparation...in the end, there's nothing. as if it would still don't make any difference even if i didn't took any effort ---in fact, better if i actually did nothing. i know this is all fate, and i can never fight God, but i still dun understand....why this always happen, EVERYDAY???? i just, want to know, why and how can i handle situation like this? there must be some other answers than "patience"

Sometimes, it's difficult to plan for your future when it seems like the world around you is crumbling.
All these conflicts, like the struggles in the Middle East or wars in Africa, worry me so much that I somtimes feel like planning for a sucessful future isn't worth it.

What I'm really meaning is that there's always worse things that can happen in life and there's a balance between acknowledging things and saving your energy for worse things. I also mean that regardless of what our attitude is and what happens, beauty in life exists no matter how bad things are and life isn't extinct or fiction. Either way it's a gift and is what it is.

Just checking in--passing by--to see how my old friends are doing (many of whom have vanished), & I wondered if you've seen how few of your contacts have posted anything for awhile? What do you think this indicates? I have a prediction, but I'd l'd like to hear from YOU. Thanks!

Knowledge is "justified true belief".

I came to know X, then some time (say 10 years) later someone asked me about X and I could not recall it.

However, one day I am walking and I see and X-like thing and I suddenly fully remember everything about X without and additional information.

Did I know X at the time of my failure to recall? What is my knowledge relation between X and myself?

Have you ever gotten into such deep thought to the point where you confuse yourself because nothing makes sense? I seem to ask myself thousands of questions each second. What is anything? What are we? Why are we here? If there were never a living thing to witness existence, would it still exist? What is the point of life? What is the point of anything?
