It is high time the real legal system [not the appalling travesty that passes for one where he is] steps in and takes this individual away from society and specifically his child.

One of the most powerful motivators in causing a person to become a police officer is the desire to control the actions of others. When action comes close to a such a person's core, he sometimes acts irrationally. He must establish control and in the process loses his perspective. This does not excuse the act, but does explain it.

Hold him to the standards that he professes by his profession and prosecute accordingly. Do the crime, do the time.

Alex, you need to help me out here by being more specific.
Was this abortion, or attempted murder of a born child?
If the child was unborn, I wouldn't feel compelled to discuss it,
however, if this person has attempted murder, I would be
talking to law enforcement. If he is in law enforcement, I
would speak with someone who doesn't work with him.

I have no faith to keep and being forsworn is a predictable human behavior; so that is not remarkable. You seem amazingly naive and implausibly appalled about something very common.

But back to your question: I wouldn't say anything to him, why would I want to?

Society is against you now; hear not their cries, live without regrets for it is the only way to preserve what you have left.
