Labels. These definitions always applies to belief systems of various organizations such as political, business and economics and r social cultures.
The first layer of a belief system will naturally espouse their truths profoundly, the ultimate, the ONLY truth.
When another belief systems comes in and starts preaching the the so called believers of the first belief system ( we were here first, these believers are OURS, find your own believers, shoo go away).
Defending the old system will begin immediately usually with words.: put downs, ridicule, marginalizing , personal attacks etc.
Profound absurdity is one of those put downs, especially if the new ideas are a threat to the old culture being unseated.

Profound is something that is kind of weired, but yet true and absurd is something that is not true or way out there. Profound absurdity would be something that's that's way out there, but yet makes you think.

profound just means "very". so profound absurdity is just very absurd
